Deck Description

Classic and ever evolving Mid-Range control originally built in Extended when the Invasion Block was Legal. Neither a Control or Aggro Deck, focuses on being able to control the board during the early stages and trying to wrap the game up in the middle of the game. Very good when there is a diverse Metagame and not one deck is good against the current standings. That said, it has really no weaknesses and at the same time has no deck it truly dominates. Very versatile Colors help make up a continuously changing and customizable Sideboard.

Deck discussion for GBW Zenith Rock

Looks like Junk with GSZ to me.

Essentially it is. I just like the GSZ alot because it shuffles back in and makes you have a more reliable draw.

I think a target for turn one GSZ would be a good idea. I know you know what I'm talking about.

You know you'd rather have him than a silly forest anyway.

Your right, I stumbled on this deck really because the classic older Rock wasnt cutting it anymore and I thought this would work out much better than the older styles. I think The Rock in general has always been a fun deck to play, not good, but atleast always Fun to play and still maintains a competitive side that picks up a few tournament wins here and there. I like the creature layout and search, the disruption, and the mid humble amount of aggression.

I love it to death, I just can't afford all the dual lands and the goyfs.

Ive been playing since 2002, got competitive a year later, and now im 22 so I really got lucky and bought up all my Dual Lands, Force of Wills, Wastelands, Tarmogoyf, The Tabernacle... etc etc. I can build anything in Legacy with the exception of a few cards. I got really lucky and thats really about it.

I'm just jumping into Legacy off my Forces. I went for Burn, since it was cheap and powerful right now.

Thats always a good start, I just ontained my younger brothers Collection so ive got my Playset of all the DUals and other cards and now ive got extras and am debating selling the extras to just have extra cash for expenses or seeing how far the price drives up. To be honest, Legacy is the format to go with. Its the healthiest, most well kept, observerd, and in the long run cheapest.

I picked up a playset of Forces at GP Atlanta for under $120, just sold them for over $400. Makes building much easier.

It really has. This season is absolutely crazy though. I started building countertop at first, but realized it's just not very strong right now.

I hate Countertop, never have liked it and probably never will. I just dont see it being all that good when so many people have seen what it does and just play against it or around it, I was hoping Tezzeret Agent of Bolas would make it good in STAX but im skeptical like you are with Countertop. My list isnt all that great I think though.

I was trying it with Bob, which made it faster but very risky. Every aggro matchup was a blow out.

I could see that happening, ive always liked Trinket Mage with that deck and having 1 of Top, Dreadnaught, etc etc. Makes for a Toolbox and has alot more answers while being really interesting and fun. if I wanted a deck I would pick right now to play, I think Team America is pretty hot.

Someone else on my team is building Team America. We also have Goblins, Affinity, and now Brainstorm Burn.

Sweetness, I would say add Lands but the enviroment isnt aggro enough for Lands to come in and dominate.

I watched someone playing through it the other day on a Daily. It was pretty powerful, and helped me understand more of the interactions.
