Deck Description

Form of the dragon is a pretty funny card that nobody plays so I decided it could be a cool finisher to a prison deck. Deck is probably pretty bad, but locking out people from the game is something you rarely get to do. Got some additional inspiration from Splooge who included Leyline of Sanctity in the main deck, decided to do that too. This is also another deck in my series of "Antitroll" decks to inform people of the ongoing troll problem on vault.

For those out of the loop, vault has a troll problem and more than ever we need to foster a strong community to fight back. This is a game of attrition, if there is too much for the troll to do, they will give up. Which is why I urge everyone to be social to each other and build new decks, perhaps even mocking the troll, to raise awareness!

Check out the leader of the crusade wickeddarkman for more information on how to fight for glory against the troll and restore peace to the vault. He's got some deck tags you can search like "wdm troll" for knowledge on trolls.

How to Play

Solemnity + Phyrexian unlife = You can't get infect counters so you will never die.
Add in a Dovescape so all spells become birds that can't kill you ;)

Use Enduring Ideal to create an unbeatable lock and get Form of the Dragon to win.

If everything goes horribly wrong, you can hopefully mill your opponent by staying alive with mistveil plains xD

I love enduring ideal decks. I played it in standard and extended. I still have a deck put together to this day for modern events at my local game store.

With Prismatic Ending being white's current best removal spell, I find that 4 Greater Auramancy is necessary to protect your pieces while developing your lock.

Control is very relevant right now. Even Tempo decks have playsets of both Counterspell and Archmage's Charm. I find Boseiju, Who Shelters All is needed to resolve an Enduring Ideal. Personally, I run 2.

I find Nevermore only performs after game 1 when I know what my opponent is playing. So I typically run 1 main and 2 side, (1 main just in case they have an enchantment wrath I need to worry about, like Ugin or Engineered Explosives). I've also noticed that it's really only needed against Tron.

Playing against Hammer Time as much as I do might make me a bit biased, but I find Porphyry Nodes to be bad in most match ups. I've been running 4 Sacred Foundry and 4 Arid Mesa so I can play 3 Chained to the Rocks alongside On Thing Ice. I also run a full playset of Ghostly Prison. Having red sources also lets me play Blood Moon in the sideboard, which seems counter-intuitive when running so many non-basics, but it's been working for me.

Board wipes have been pretty lackluster in most of the games I've played. Once upon a time, it was needed to clear the board and stay alive, but it has been moved to the side with all the cards that have been printed. Runed Halo, on the other hand, has been unquestionably the best card in the deck since it was printed. Playing 4 of them is necessary, and usually all you need as most decks only run 3-4 different threats.

This all just my opinion of course and should be taken with a grain of salt, but after playing thousands of games I'm fairly confident in my assessments of the deck.

Wow, an actual expert on this kind of deck! I wasn't expecting such a response, I just kind of made this as a funny deck a while ago. If you can pull up some actual numbers with the deck, massive props to you!
