Tested your deck on OCTGN cause it looked fun to play.... and OH MY GOD!!!! it`s even better then I thought!

Loved the idea, and it runs smothly.... just like a big boulder down a mountain :-)

It might not be fast, but i find it extremelly versatile and capable of tackling most decks. Whats your experience playing it? what kind of decks give you the most chalange?

I like Elf decks.... a LOT!!!

But I don`t think yours will work... at least not against a well thought Legacy deck!
Don`t get me wrong, I`m talking like this because I made the same mistake before. The deck looks promissing... but the truth is that by turn 3 (if you survive untill turn 3 against another Legacy deck) you will have played your entire hand... probably getting 3 forests and 5-7 elves on the battlefield... and after that you will see your army of small elves get smashed by bigger creatures or cheap removals like Lightning bolt, Swords to plowshares, Abrupt decay, etc... and you will be stuck drawing 1 card per turn, with no way of getting back to battle and no chance to win...
You see... magic is ALL about card advantage! And in your deck, the moment you empty your hand you got nothing to answer the threats your opponent throughs at you! You need something to get either more cards on your hand or something to get more creatures on the table! Think on things like Genesis wave or creatures like Sylvan messenger.
also think on Min-Maxing your deck! What I mean is... 70 cards is 10 cards too many! The only mana accelerators you have on your deck are 4 Llanowar elves... how often do you get them out? How often do you wait for ever for that winning overrun to come out? Try to reduce the number of cards on your deck, you don`t need all that different kinds of elves like taunting elf or berserker elf... Check my deck, the only cards we have in common are forests and llanowar elves! Of course there is a huge difference on the price tag, but its mostly because of the lands I play, if you keep to basic lands you can make a pretty fast deck with mostly common and uncommon cards, and later you can invest in other cards (like fetch lands, gaeas craddle, elvish archdruid, etc) that get a higher price tag without having to make big changes on your deck.

Please, don`t get me wrong (man... this looks like an 80`s song :-P), but all I want is to help.

Made a change on the layout!!! Noticed that mental Misstep is banned in legacy :-P so I had to come up with a substitute! Since MM job was to protect my stuff I opted to use Turn Aside for the job. It was the choice to keep the colour layout and the Mana Cost. Other choices are Hidering light and Rebuff the wicked. Opinions needed!! :-D

Thx for the comment! I didn`t consider the cavern of Souls when building the deck mainly because its not "fetchable" with verdant catacombs (but so isn`t the inkmoth nexus...). Another problem is the creature types I have on deck... Human rogue, Elf warrior and Myr. 3 different types of creatures makes the cavern difficult to use!

I finished the sideboard (version 1, at least) and included Mental Misstep considering blue decks! Also... if someone FoW`s my 1st creature isn`t such a big deal! Its the FoW, a blue card removed from game a 1 life point for a 1/1 infect creature... and I can always play Inkmoth Nexus without fear of counterspells :-)

Also... commented and liked your infect deck ;-) Ill follow you and check your other decks later.

Just to let you know that your deck rocks!! Been using something similar on OCTGN and its a real charm, it rolls nicely like a big boulder down a mountain!!! But I noticed this deck is a bit old... What would you change on it now?

Droped Raven`s Crime, Signed in Blood, Nixathid, Funeral charm in favor of Phyrexian arena, phyrexian obliterator, dismember and consume spirit. Put in a couple more lands raising the land total to 22.

Updated the deck to show the latest version I`ve been playing. I usually cast "half" (usually arround 10 creatures, sometimes a lot more) my deck arround turns 3 to 5, making this a very aggressive and fun deck to play.

Just another thought... you could move naturalize to sideboard and put Acidic slimes in the deck... they stay on the table with genesis wave and you can choose to destroy a land if there are no artifacts or enchants.
Also... consider swapping 1 overrun, 2 harbrigers and 1 elvish promenade for 4 arbor elves, fyndhorn elves or (even better in my opinion) Quirion rangers.

Also... made a few changes on my elf deck also... check it out ;-) you`re gonna love it!!

hey there:
1- With priests and archdruids you wont have mana troubles... last night i cast a X=25 genesis by turn 4 or 5 :-D... you wont need druids deliverance
2- Yes, Druids deliverance doesnt protect creats, just you and you wont get it from genesis....
3- Yes :-D it includes elf tokens also
4- OMG I hadnt seen it before!!!! It does with just 4 elfs on table if one is a priest or archdruid!!!... its an easier combo then the intruder alarm! Ill probably include that on my deck :-D Yes... thats devastating!!!
Do you have an octgn account? if you do add me there (ricardobabo).

I agree with your changes, but the umbral mantles seem a bit useless in my opinion. you would be better with the priests of titania (think of them as smal elvish archdruids you can cast on turn 2 and give you at least 2 mana on turn 3...
Try playing with some cards to give you more cards: Sylvan messenger, regal force, Genesis wave, lead the stampede, gilt-leaf archdruid (dont forget that llanowar elves, elvish archdruid, priest of titania, elvish harbringer and fyndhorn elves are all druids).
Hope you are having fun and that your friends still chalenge you to play MTG :-D

Hey there! I like your first approach on a magic deck :-D
You seem to have a very well defined idea of what you want your deck to do!
I have some thoughts to share with you... Since you seem to be planning a legacy deck you should consider some changes on your deck to make it faster and more agressive. Consider changing Copperhorn scouts and wren`s run vanquishers to llanowar elves and priests of titania. Both give you fast mana and help with getting that overrun faster. Also consider putting 2 more overruns there to make sure you have them when needed! There are some nice cards you can use in legacy, so check out Vitalize to help getting even more mana. Druids deliverance, gilt-leaf ambush and giant growth could be swaped for other more usefull things... you see, the problem with your deck will be arround turn 5 or 6 if you dont get your opponent killed by then, because you will have an empty hand and your opponent will be starting to get some big hitters on the table, that you wont be able to kill unless you get to be blocked/block them and use a giant growth, right? The way I see it is... just overwelm the enemy with even more elves... Check Sylvan messenger for an easy way to get more cards in hand (you get to keep the elvish promenade also), or other interesting things like Regal force, Genesis wave or lead the stampede.
Also consider reducing the number of forests you use... If you include the llanowar elves and priests of titania you can get an enormous ammount of critters on table by turn 3, with just 1 or 2 lands... unless you keep drawing forests that wont help you win the game. You will probably manage with something as low as 16 lands!

Check my Elf decks to check some more card ideas. Have fun

Im not sure I understand what you mean with "faster mana ramp"! Your deck seems fun to play, but it will only start arround turn 3, since most of your cards have a converted mana cost of 3 and no card of less cost is gonna help you put creatures on the table. Actually with a bad draw (that means fewer than 3 lands by turn 3) you will be there stuck, using mystical tutors that are going to give you creatures you wont be able to cast or using abundant growths that are going to give you mana of any colour that you dont need!! Unless you plan to use the joraga warcallers without the multiquicker (when I cast them I usually put arround 14 counters on them).
By turn 3 with a good draw I can make the infinite tokens combo start: T1: tropical island and llanowar/fyndhorn elf; T2: forest and imperious perfect; T3; forest and intruder alarm, produce infinite tokens; T4 attack opponent with infinite 2/2 elves... And this deck is slow compared to my monogreen version
Sure, all sort of things can go wrong in this deck... it is extremelly vulnerable to artifacts/enchantmens with nasty effects... thats why I need help with the sideboard/build to make it more competitive.

You can make your deck a lot faster with the addition of simple llanowar elves instead of the abundant growths. You can also use the arbor elves if you really want to use the overgrowths. And you should definatly try the quirion Rangers (works wonders with the elvish archdruid, priest of titania and the likes)...Try it out and let me know the results ;-)

Thanks for the comments guys. The reason I posted the deck is that I haven`t played magic for about 10 years and I`m playtesting a deck to find something that I enjoy playing and that has some WOW factor... its meant to be a fun deck to play... not an invencible one!
The infinite tokens combo is like a cherry on top of a sugar coating... not a necessary thing, just a WOW factor.
Since I`ve been away from MTG for so long most games I play on OCTGN I find myself facing cards and decks that are completly new to my experience and my greater difficulty is getting the right sideboard to keep the deck running. Yesterday I played agains a mill deck that cast some artifact that made my creatures unable to attack unless their power was smaller than my opponents hand (he had an empty hand when he cast it and my elves were allready pumped up by +2/+2).

Also on account of budget deck building I started experimenting on a mono green elf deck thats very similar to this one (ill post it and put the link here later) and the infinite tokens combo isnt missed... it behaves equally well (perhaps even better)

Well... about adding an artifact to pump the elves... for the same mana I could put Coat of arms... sure they dont get flying and they dont get to be indestrutible, but each creature gets +X/+X, with X being the number of creatures of its type... In a 60 card deck that carries 38 elves... you get the picture!
The thing with the infinite tokens is thats an ending combo... the momet it gets in you create an endless supply of tiny elven warriors ready to smash your opponent on your next turn. When I play this deck on Octgn I usually only create tokens the moment I get the intruder alarm on the battlefield. With the eldrazi monument I would have to sacrifice important ressources (like llanowar elves or quirion rangers) just to keep the thing on the table.
