Use Elite Spellbinder to identify the cards that are the biggest threat in the opponent's deck. Then use Academic Probation and Curse of Silence to control or limit the use of those. Then the lockdown theme continues with the "tap target creature" cards. The extra lands are for the landfall cards. There will be opportunities to do damage in combat. Especially once Relic Golem does his job milling the opponent's deck. Hence, the Weathered Runestone in the sideboard for opponents with a lot of graveyard recovery spells.

always a fan of taxes decks. white taxes can be super fun. this deck looks pretty fun I think.my thoughts:50 feet of rope doesn't tap things. just keeps things tapped if they are already. I missed that when I first played with it.the other thing I would point out is that the only creature that makes sense to crew the vehicle is the fledgling, which gets bigger than it after a couple of turns, and is the same mana cost. I would say if you want to keep the boat you might want some 1 drops to make it worth your while, or swap the vehicle for something better long term. a crew of 1 is enticing, but the rest of the deck doesn't really fit with it.I just for see you tapping either a bigger or more evasive creature most of the time to crew it.I also agree with WDM about fetch lands. even in a mono colored deck they are useful. for landfall, such as the fledgling, or just deck thinning so you are less likely to flood out.
