Deck discussion for The Unreal

Me gusta! I suggest taking out the dragons for ixidron - he is very powerful when dropped on turn 5, almost a win-con. Aqueous form would complete the madness.

Kira, Great Glass Spinner is a great way to protect your illusion creatures, probably in conjunction with Lord of the Unread. If you want some lulz ... hit an illusion you control with Mirrorweave and shoot Emkral in the face with an Unsummon.

If you want to build on that unblockable theme ... Phantom Warrior. Bring along some Hands of Binding, Hidden Strings,

Phantasmal Image is devastating in this deck. Why not bring along MORE clone shenanagins? Cackling Counterpart, Cryptoplasm, Dance of Many, Followed Footsteps, Eternal Dominion (combo with aether vial, but something else is needed ... show and tell =) ), Fated Infatuation, Stolen Identity, and Tempt with Reflections.

Oh, and you should really listen to this playlist (no it's not a Rick Roll):

Look what the the random card button turned up the first time I clicked it! A phantom-warrior ... last time this happened, one of my decks took off. Take this as a sign!

And just so you know, making this comment was REALLY fun for me ... I think it is time I made a clone deck!

Most of the Times, I prefer to draw the Dragon, instead of taking out all my creatures, and just having one big vanilla guy. I still play one, since it is good as a sort of removal against some decks, maybe a living End or a Merfolk.

I know that the vial is a good card, but how well does it work here?

AHEM*

It works great. I mean, unless you want to run Doubling Season and Vorel of the Hull Clade and proliferate, you won't see it's broken nature, but here it works just fine. It is nasty enough to include in my landless deck I am working on though =).

so... I know that Vial is a fishy friend (ala Merrow Reejerey), but it really doesn't have any way to break it in here, since there is no way to untap it and pump out more than a single creature per turn with it. am I missing something?

Fine, it shouldn't be here. Use Spellkite instead.

I didn't say that... sometimes I miss things... :(
I am sorry if I came across as rude... :(
What role does vial fill here? to be able to play an extra creature for free right? and get big expensive creatures out for cheap?

all in all this deck looks really good. :)

Sorry about that .... man I sounded like a jerk. I was a little tired.

Seriously though, Trickbing or Spellkite or Kira, the Great Glass Spinner are much better choices, for this deck.

The vial really only shines if you have draw and if you can pump it.

ok, that makes sense. However I do have to say that as cool as Spellskite and Kira are... they wouldn't help against your illusions being targeted. once they are the target of a spell... Poof... sadly it doesn't matter if you change the target of the spell or not.

Now trickbind on the other hand... that might actually work, since it doesn't target the creature it wouldn't trigger the ability, and since it counters triggered abilities... hmm... yeah, I think that would work at keeping the illusions from being sacrificed. Not bad. Not bad at all. :)

I like Vial here, since you can flash your creatures in, and if you have it on 2 so you get to flash in your lord, that lets your creatures live, or it brings down a couple more points of Damage. Also, you can keep up Mana for your Control Route, while still putting down threats. Trickbind is a nice idea, I'll have to see what i can take out for it.
And by the way, you don't need to break things for them to be good :)

So true ... I think that this deck is really good, and the vial is a refreshing new addition to an old tribal. I like you take on it. My take would capatalize on unblockable and run some neat cipher spells.

thanks. the cipher plan might work, will see what you do with it. personally i prefer the more control route, as it utilizes the power of the vials, especially if you draw two, and it hinders UWR and other control decks.
