Black Knight being a First Strike and Protection White for BB is pretty cheap. Order can get huge with Protection White and can get First Strike easily. Back before Double Strike, First Strike was the way to go. They were the most effective cards for their time. That, and the artwork was cool. Lol.

Spark Elemental would work, and would cover against a first turn blocker up to 2 toughness and still ride. Whatever floats your boat. :D
Terror fixes a 7/7 Trampler with this deck. If not, I still have things I can pump to kill it or Drain Life it.
You're missing the Knights of Stromgald and Order of the Ebon Hand (BB, cast, BB, +1/+0 til end of turn, B, First Strike). They get as big as I want. And I can give them First Strike. Bigger means more expensive, more expensive means slower. I used this deck IRL for a long time, and any time it lost was by 1-3 life. The Hypnotic Specters and Hymns keep my opponent's hand down, Terror kills non black/ non artifacts, Black Knights/Order/Knights of Stromgald are defenders against small attackers, Knights of Strom and Order proctect against big dogs I didn't get to Terror. And if something huge hits the table that I don't like, pop my Nev's Disk to clear everything but land and drop a Knight of Strom or Order to come back next turn aggressively. This isn't a defensive deck. I can defend with it if I need to, but otherwise I'm swinging every turn for massive damage and making my opponent or their creatures pay the way for Necro to do it's job. It looks bad early when you're at 8 life and your opponent is at 20, but when you drop a Drain Life for 7 the turn after you dropped to 8, you're at 15 and they're at 13. And guess what? Your hand is stocked for onslaught. Can this deck be beaten? Yes. Is it easy? A matter of perception, I suppose. But when you look at the fact more than 40% roughly of this deck takes 2 mana to cast (24, not counting Drain Life since you dump in extra mana on top of the cost), 33% is mana production, and less than 27% roughly is 1,3, 4, or everything mana casts, you realize just how fast this deck is to get moving, even without Necropotence. I'm shaving 3-7 life off you no later than turn 4 most of the time, and I can cut even more off if the game lasts to turn 10. Unless you build specifically against black or build into high amounts of counterspells, I'm going to be all over you. Those big creatures you want to kill me with? You have to keep them in your hand until you can get them on the board while I'm using Hyppies and Hymns to keep you down. You get a lucky turn 6 draw and drop something 6/6 with Haste and Trample. OK, Terror. Say it was a black creature. Drain Life. Not good enough? I'll eat the 5 Trample to kill it with Order or KoS. I don't have a KoS or Order on the table? Nev's Disk. If I can't take down a big creature with this deck, I got such a bad hand I couldn't have won anyways. But I would mulligan that hand away before it went that route.
Not a bad idea, I may sideboard something to do that.
Mill decks kill a lot of different decks. Weenie decks get trounced, burn decks struggle, even most lockdown decks will have a hard time. If you're playing against an actual Millstone runner, Nev's Disk handles the Millstone. It's anyone's game, and dependent on the first hand. But most games are.
I was looking more at the "Rats" than the "Unlimited" or the "Infinite". :P
Infinite and Unlimited are redundant. Just saying.
You're welcome to tinker. I love the idea of a variation. Let me know when you post it!
I figured since it's not running a Millstone, if I called it a "Mill deck" it might be slightly misleading.
Did Ranger's Guile help a lot?
Your deck looks pretty solid, maybe sideboard those just in case.
Open to suggestions.
Dark Rituals and Braingeysers (albeit old) would be humorous to throw in just to make them draw a little more.
I thought you might. Those two cards drive me batty against my g/f. She locks down my creatures or sits there and makes it so I can't attack since she knows to burn my hand out of counters so I can't keep those off the table.
Could use Tibalt just for the fun of it.
She's been playing a B/W Vampire deck with similar ideas. So annoying for my B/U mill deck. I always run creature light, and she exploits it. Only suggestion I would have and it might go S/B, would be to add some Souls of the Faultless and Pillory of the Sleepless.
One of my friends had another one, I just don't remember what the setup was. Too bad I lost touch with him, he was brilliant when it came to MTG. Damn, I miss high school sometimes. Alas, that was 10 years ago.
Doesn't Mana Flare seem counter intuitive since it's an infinite mana deck? Power Sink and Boomerang I get. Do you remember the layout of the deck so I could view it? It might help me tinker a bit more with what I already have.
They usually don't say anything. Their jaw drops and they walk away facepalming. It's more to show that it can be done. And if you notice, this uses the exact amount of mana since this was conceived prior to the elimination of mana burn.
