Fast and aggressive vampire deck. Black with a splash of Red.
Dark Ritual can be swapped for any three of the sideboard cards to make this deck legal in Modern.Vampire Nocturnus is the key to success. Find him with Diabolic Tutor or luck. Once he's out, you'll be happy that you only have a splash of Red, as Nocturnus's benefit only works with a black card on the top of your deck. The Red, however, is very beneficial between the Heir vampires and Vampiric Fury (which inexpensively gives your attacking vamps a boost and first strike). I hold on to every Cremate I pull because if I flip a land or a red card on the top of my deck I can use Cremate to draw a card, shuffle and hope that a black one lands on top again.Blood Seeker is great for a low cost starter because he begins to hurt the opponent every time they put out a creature. Make sure you say something because the card's "may" text makes the benefit optional. Vampire Nighthawk is another staple of this deck. When you hook him up with a surprise Vampiric Fury, your opponent's defenses will soon fade away.

I tagged this as MODERN because with a quick swapout of Murder for Dark Rit, you get there. I play in casual circles and I love Dark Rit but Murder (or Doom Blade) will let you play this deck in Modern.
