This is a standard deck I put together for future tournaments in the 2012 year. I Want to know what people think. It runs pretty fast if I get 2-3 mana and a few Illusions opening hand. It runs even better when I have a grand arch out on turn 3 cause then I can play a wurmcoil engine for free on turn 5 by tapping 3 blue creatures from grand arch's ability. This helps a lot when saving mana for leaks and cancels if people try to counter the casts. The disperses are meant to save lord of unreals early game. They also help during my combat phase. I can disperse the creature trying to block to save my creature or to help damage go through. Best game with this hand so far was with the wurmcoils cloned with phantasmal images because they get the buffs from grand arch and adaptive automatons. During a few games I had 1 wurmcoil out with 2 phantasmal images copying the wurmcoils. Full immunity from 1 lord of unreal and another phantasmal image copying lord of the unreal for backup hexproofs and +1 +1 buff. The wurmcoils images were 12-12s lifelinkers.

Always good to throw in a few Treasure Mages to get those Wurmcoil Engines in your hand :P

hmm good idea. I usually get the wurmcoils but that would help a lot. if i am to get rid of something probably the phantasmal dragons...
a suggestion id have is get rid of is diusperse and cancel. put stoic rebuttle it winds up being 2 and is a hard counter for the cancel. increase the ponder by 1. drop negate down to two. def add 2 more of the wurmcoil engines, there a possible 3 turn drop with the arch, ive done it and it just blows wholes threw people. and i like the four dragons just incase with the lord of the unreal out its a little insurence take a look at mine if u like, and leave me some input. yours is still a nice build though. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=230458

oh and dont forget metamorphs 8 clones are better then 4
How does disperse run? I have vapor snag in mine, if disperse was another boomerang i would total run it, but I dont seem me needing to run disperse when im most most likely going to be returning a creature anyways.
check out my deck http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=231661
dispers bounces target nonland permanent to hand i usually use it on enchantments that u couldnt counter or to save creatures like lord of the unreal
a lot of people would search my library for my wurmcoils so i would also disperse them back to my hand
How are they looking through your deck for the wurms and how are they using them? Does Disperse return cards from your graveyard?
dipserses return target permanent to owners hand. And a lot of people i know play extended so they have old school cards that search for target artifacts in opponents deck.
You may want Mental Misstep for your sideboard. Here is my illusion deck. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=220409 Now I found out the hard way that once your illusion is targeted, the illusion effect goes off and your illusion dies regardless of counter spell. If you cast disperse on your illusions that have the stipulation "When Phantasmal *whatever* becomes the target of a spell or ability, sacrifice it.", they die.
The triggered ability of an illusion such as Phantasmal Bear triggers when the target is declared, but does not go on to the stack until after the spell resolves. So, when you redirect the spell with Ricochet Trap, the original spell still resolves and because your illusion was, at one point, a target it's trigger goes on to the stack. However, if you counter the spell, it is like the spell never happened, except for still paying the mana for it. To counter a spell or ability means to cancel it, removing it from the stack. It doesnt resolve and none of its effects occur. A countered spell is put into its owners graveyard. None of it's effects, including triggers from targeting, would have ever happened
That is not correct. I was under the same understanding but once it becomes the target of a spell, that's it. There is a different stack for effects. You can redirect but your illusion was targeted at one point regardless. The spell doesn't have to resolve for a target to be declared. you counter the spell, yes the spell is like it didn't happen but point being it was targeted. The second the target happens, the effect happens.
here are some rules and rulings from Wizards about illusions. 405.6. Some things that happen during the game don't use the stack. 405.6a Effects don't go on the stack; they're the result of spells and abilities resolving. Effects may create delayed triggered abilities, however, and these may go on the stack when they trigger (see rule 603.7). http://community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/75842/28265857/some_questions_on_the_rules.?post_id=506536045#506536045 This one actually talks about redirecting spells. http://community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/75842/28262869/phantasms?post_id=506479075#506479075
