Deck Description

Trying a different angle on my \"Smilefire\" Balefire Liege deck. All I have to say is, Grinning Ignus turns into a player-targetted Lightning Bolt with Balefire Liege out. The best part is, you can cast him once for each Mountain you have in play every turn.

Tap Mountain > return Grinning to hand > use mana given to recast the Grinning again > 3 damage > Rinse/Repeat

(TYPE 2 LEGAL)

Deck discussion for Smilefire

the only thing that concerns me here is the lack of a "finisher" burn spell, namely Blaze. If your opponent is still alive on turn 8/9 and you have 6 mana and say, 2 lash outs, you're really going to be wishing for some high damage burn. Blaze fits in there quite well. Consider Spitemare also. It has a pseudo-burn effect that can trigger when you block with it, which is always nice. That said, a fine deck.

Thanks for the comment triplectz,

I think you may be right about the slam dunk. Now that I think about it, with a Balefire out...even if I cast a 0-point blaze..that's still 3.

Tweaked it a bit. :)

You could probably just swap the 3 plains with mountains, considering that the only spell that requires white mana is in the sideboard. Looks nasty though.
