Deck Description

i have always liked the idea of death touch but never put a use to it like this.

thinking about splashing red into it for better aggro and domri rade maybe... any ideas

How to Play

basically keep attacking and knock other creatures to the graveyard while using prey upon to make the high threats go away. then if you have drawn to many big monsters without enough mana drop them in the graveyard with the grimoire and bring everything you have death touched back to deliver a devistating blow. if you are up against zombies and more tokens sub in the nighthawks for the denizens and just swing over head and use the curses and witches to help dwindle them.

Deck discussion for standard deathtouch

You have no buff spells and bad 1/1 one drops. Change something with that and why are you not running vampire Nighthawk easily the best death touch card in the meta. Wasteland Viper should easily be your one drop.

just standard cards i had since i cant seem to pull a nighthawk out of boosters for some reason and i wanted to throw the green viper in. i am probably replacing the gorgon with the wasteland viper shortly though. also the ambush viper does more damage and combos with the shadow slice better

Try dropping the two shadow slice for a couple curse of misfortunes.

was actually thinking about dropping the witches for that since they do essentially the same thing just the curse is more effective.

I'd swap Ambush Viper for Wasteland Viper in your main board. And maybe drop Spire Tracer for Typhoid Rats for a 1 drop, since the deck is death touch based and you already have Deadly Recluse for reach. Also Prey Upon might go well in this deck, as well as Harvester of Souls for a bigger late game swing.

P.S thank you for feed back on my deck. This one looks to be coming along great :)

thanks i'll have to look into the harvester of souls and prey upon sounds like a good idea. not sure about the prey upon since i have deadly allure but that would let me choose what im hitting.

BothInterestingAndAnnoying But No First Strike Is Saddening. PerhapsAtleast One Beatstick Would Be Good As You Need A Way To Survive First Striking Decks Like Boros Or Burn Decks. Like The One Drops Theough.

thats why i use prey upon. the mechanic deathtouch still applies but first strike does not since it is not deemed as combat damage, unless im totally wrong in which case i will be throwing in an equipment or somthing in my sideboard to make a creature just do 1 damage to a creature which is enough to kill.

Hello, I would like to say that this deck is great but the only problem I think is that.... Won't you have insufficiency of Land?

no really im not going to use the harvesters from my hand i use them forr the grimoire and make them come back as my win condition.

Have always loved the idea of bringing back mean creatures from the grave...zombies in particular! I think Unbreathing Horde would add to the fun of Grimoire:) But nonetheless looks like a fun deck...and cheap too:)

yea 14$ isnt bad for an fnm ready deck, the only reason i dont use unbreathing horde is that my win condition is the grimmoire so its going to end the game immediately after i use it on my next turn. also the horde is based on zombies that gives me one turn to have zombies out so it's not as viable as i'd like although if they survived my zombified onslaught the horde would be great to have the next turn. hmmm... i'll look into it

Could I just know what are the weaknesses of the deck and how do you overcome it?

tokens have a nice hit on the deck which i counter with the curse of death's hold. also control and mill seem to hit this deck pretty hard i dont really have anything to counter it accept the soul harvesters and bitterheart witches which allow me to just do damage but control will beat me unless they are mana fucked or they dont disrupt my grimoire

Pretty good looking deck. I wonder if it has any mana issues. I hate having cards greater than three converted mana cost. If I have to have them, I try to keep them at one or two count.

it doesnt work bad with the grimoire being my win con and sacing the big guys to it so i dont pay costs.

If mill is hitting you hard, why not throw in a couple of Elixir of Immortality?

Illness in the Ranks is a cheap way of dealing with tokens.
