Deck Description

I wanted to win with Laboratory Maniac and I wanted to win fast. Feldons Cane, or Tormods Crypt/ Laboratory Maniac/ Paradigm shift seemed like the fastest way, hopefully on your opponents turn they play a card and you successfully remand it, either way you win on your next draw step. All sort's of things can go wrong so it's essentially a gamble, but is fun to play, and has won 6/8 of the games I've tested it in. Its two losses were to a burn deck.

How to Play

turn 1: Tap an island to play Sol Ring. Tap Sol Ring to play Sapphire Amulet.
turn 2: Play second Island. Tap one Island and one Sol Ring to play Laboratory Maniac [note:you burn yourself for 1 life here].
Wait for a response, if none play Paradigm Shift.
turn 3: You draw you win... Congrats.

A million things can go wrong of course... so it's a gamble. The latest I've ever gotten the combo out is turn eight, and that was only once. It's also won with only one Island before, and that was a funny game.

Deck discussion for Laboratory Maniac 3 turn win

fun deck! what turn can this win on? Take a look at the deck "EGGS". It uses Maniac as a secondary win condition. http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=408447

It's possible to win on the draw phase of turn three, it usually takes five turns, and has almost never failed to get the combo out after six.

Crazy combo, I have really wanted to see some creative ways to use lab maniac, and you nailed it.

Interesting, I liked having lab maniac as my win-con in a cephalid breakfast deck.

This is a good casual deck, but if you want to make it competitive:

Remove sol ring and sapphire medallion, and add things like city of traitors/ancient tomb to your land base. ( Sol ring is banned ).
Remove mystical tutor for muddle the mixture (tutor is banned).
Tamiyo and Rewind are too slow, add force of will and jace the mind sculptor (LOTS of money :p)
Propaganda, ensnaring bridge, and standstill are good to slow down your opponent while you set up.
Vedalken aethermage (something like that) has "wizard cycling", which helps you tutor the maniac.

Hope this helps!
