The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...
Start typing a card name and use the auto-complete feature to quickly select the card you're trying to add. Enter a quantity and add that card to your sideboard!

A deck i have had for a little bit, but am realizing that i want it to have a purpose.. would love input on changes or directions i can go with it. I am very new at magic, and i basically added whatever new cards i got that i thought were "good".. I am posting this purely with the intention of refining it..

Holy hell, I haven't even looked at what you're trying to do yet, and I can tell you that first off, you need to cut down to 60 never run a deck over 60 cards, and your card selection is much too varied, you need to know that you will draw what you need, when you need it. Your cards being so varied means that you aren't as likely to draw what you need when you need it. Okay, what I see here is the start of a very good creature based control/life gain deck. First you need 4x Talrand, Sky Summoner. Increase the number of Beguiler of Wills to 4, increase the number of Goldnight Redeemer at least 2, 4x mist raven, 4x Elgaud Shieldmage, 4x Seraph of Dawn, and 4x Rhox Faithmender. Temporal mastery is good try to get 2, 4x Angel's Mercy, 4x counterspell, 4x boomerang. Then 20 lands. That is what I would do, change it to fit your style however though.

yesterday, i bought a new Return to Ravnica intro pack. i picked up the blue-white one, hoping to kind of figure out which style fits me best, and bought a good amount of boosters. the premise of the intro pack is detain, and i like the way it plays a lot. i took out some stuff that seemed a little bit off from the idea of the deck, replaced with a few multicolored i got from the boosters, etc. i would love some input on that next one from you, and was hoping to make sort of a hybrid of the two. i will post the second one soon, it is basically just the intro pack.. a little changed tho
One of the best parts of this magical game we call Magic, is the versatility and variety of cards. This results in there not being a "must do" for deck building, other than the minimum 60, maximum 4 copies and banned lists. That being said, here's a few good ideas that tend to work for any deck: :- Try stick as close to the 60 card minimum as possible. This helps increase the chance of drawing what you want or need sooner. :- Maximizing the copies of you cards also helps increase the chance of drawing what you want or need sooner. But there are a few cases where 4x isn't as good. If a card costs a lot of mana and / or is a legend, 2x or 3x should be enough, but that's also dependant on how crucial the card is to your win condition. :- Generally 22 to 24 lands is enough for a 60 card deck. All 3 points have exceptions, but these are just general guidelines that I follow. You may also want to be careful of too many different affects in one deck. A "single minded" deck plays smoother and wins more often than just a bunch of random cards.
I agree on only running 2 to 3 legends, generally I only run 2. However with what I see being done with this deck, I would run 4 Talrands. Just to make sure that I've always got one when I need it. I hate drawing a card I don't need, but I hate not drawing what I need to make a deck run more. Perhaps, take out 1 Talrand and replace it with the Ajani, and switch the boomerangs with drawpower. 2 Arcanis, and two Lightkeepers of emeria, or Emeria angels?
