Deck Description

Hi planestalker here.

This is my current casual green stompy deck.

Most recent win was in a quick second game (lasted five turns) against a Legacy Tourney Level Zoo deck with Knight of the Reliquary, Tarmogoyf, and other such beasties.
It also lost a narrow squeaker of first game to the same Zoo deck where I had the player down to 1 life for 5 turns while I was at 20 life having taken no damage for about the first seven turns.

I'm using this account for only my real decks.

All these decks I currently own and all the cards are real, no proxies, and I currently play these decks at local game stores.

As I tear apart these decks for new decks I will remove them from this account.

I also will try to keep a running history of how they played against other decks.

Deck discussion for realdecks - green stompy deck.

Ok, while it certainly seems budgeted, I've still gotta wonder about the Elvish Warrior (and Giant Growth/Bounty of the Hunt really). I mean, 2 mana for a 2/3 seems pretty underwhelming for a deck where all the 1-drops are nearly the same size or even bigger. They hit just as hard anyway, and 3 thoughness doesn't help all that much because it still get's bolted quite easily doesn't compare well against goyfs, Nacatls, etc. I also am not huge on the Giant Growths just because they're an easy source of card disadvantage in that they'll just grab an extra 3 damage from time to time, but do little more. I think a card like Sylvan Library might be helpful in here to help make sure the pressure keeps coming. Just a few thoughts to toss around.

Looks pretty solid for Stompy (especially for the overall low cost) as a whole, though.:)

Hi Edna,

Your comments are spot on. I have the same concerns this deck needing more card draw and replacing the elvish warrior with something either with more toughness and power or with great utility.

The orginal deck was an all commons deck just replace the winter orb and Bounty of the Hunt with more Symbiosis and Briar Shields and you have the orginal deck. But I got tried of it just barely losing
to more expensive deck. Though it had its share of wins agains decks costing hundreds of time more.

The deck really, really, really needs winter orb to put real pressure on the opponent.

Currently, I'm thinking of replacing the Elvish warrior with 2 Harvest Wurm and 2 Plant Elementals.
I've already tried River boa, Dungrove Elder, and Silhana Ledgewalker and wasn't impressed.

Another possible option is to replace the Elvish warrior with some mixture of the following cards Naturalize, Hurricane, Noxious Revival, Gixtaxian Probe, Mental Misstep, or Regrowth, or Sylvan Library.

I'll have to do some testing and then make the change.

Thanks for the input. If you have any decks you'd like me to check out and comment on post it here
thanks.
