Oh my, Razka, you're friends are gonna' hate you when you play this deck! Maybe a couple of Basilisk Collar and Sigil of Sleep to make it more annoying? Suq'Ata Firewalker and Repercussion could be handy too. Charisma would be fun too, but it's a little hard to cast. I think the deck could have a couple of lightning bolts, Vapor Snag, or maybe Fire/Ice or Even Mana leaks to smoothen the mana curve? I feel like it needs some mana producing spells that's under 2 mana cost, something like Sol ring? But overall this is gonna' so fun to play. Love what you did here Razka! Keep em' comming!

Haha you're right, I wasn't really trying when I did this, I'll add some utility card and make it a bit more competitive, the ones you brought up are super :D By the way, I've never thought about giving Deathtouch on direct damage creatures like these, that's GENIOUS. And yes, I do believe people are gonna hate me :D It will be just like playing Touhou lol
Yes, yes. These are memories. My first serious deck was a blue deck running heavy with counterspells and bounce. Would bring out my creatures that tap and cause 1 damage, then try to control the board as i pinged creatures and players. Seen another deck, a month ago, on this site very much like this one (and my old one). Can't remember the name, or would send it for you to like. Idea was stuff like Counterspell. Mana Leak. Boomerang. Capsize. Treachery. Control Magic.Early Counterspell stuff. Then start bouncing lands and threats. Then steal their stronger creatures. Then kill their weaker creatures with Prodigal Sorcerer, Rootwater Hunter, and Spellcaster. And attack with the creatures you stole from them. You simply added red versions of Sorcerer/Hunter/Spellcaster (many of which I did not know about). Very nice! Of course...my deck was fun to play...and aggravating to play against it, but it could be fairly beat. Still, fun to play.
Wow. I'm amazed somebody still remembers Capsize.Allow me to indulge a little in some nostalgia.I started playing Magic and had THE SHITTIEST DECK. It was literally a bunch of cool green and white creatures I found, all slapped together making so sense whatsoever.I was playing with friends, most of the time, and one of them had a really bullshit stasis deck, running Capsize and of course the 4 Prodigal with Sigil of Sleep.I was amazed beyond belief. Not to mention Prodigal + Charisma. Most broken combo ever made. You could do a lot of fun stuff with this concept, but this is just for fun, and I went for a direct storm of single damage. Kind of an annoying concept.
Yes, sadly...it was a fun deck...but not competitive. I learned that after breaking my old blue deck out and getting stomped by new mill, token, and discard decks by good players...I smiled, and put the deck back into retirement.
That's more or less what happened to me. I quit playing for a few years, and then I said to myself "Well, what about a nice little tournament, that would be so great. Time for Bargain." I used to rank quite high in tournaments, so I thought I was gonna have an easy time.First match I'm against a tinker/darksteel colossus deck. I BARELY survive and win. Second game he takes 4 Extract from his sideboard. You can guess how my return into competitive Magic ended :P
A fun card. Sigil of Sleep.
1 blue mana. Enchant one of your pingers. Ping your opponent for one damage with Spellcaster (or one of the others) and you get to return one of their creatures to their hand. It could work.
Yep, Capsize, for 6 mana, could look down a deck. They play something. Capsize and buyback. They play something. Capsize and buyback. Capsize and buyback. Then play a free Palichron for 7 mana, and have the 6 mana for Capsize. Fun stuff, back in the day. My first deck was like that too. 100 plus cards. Bunch of green creatures. Very lame. Especially against a designed blue deck. That is how i learned to play Magic. Getting beat by my friend's blue decks. It taught you design. Idea of win condition.
I think every player should learn by playing against a good control deck.
And just looked up Charisma!!! Damn, that's mean. How did I never know about that card?! I even collected cards from that series.
That's how I'm teaching newbies xD Sometimes I go to the store and there's all these youngsters with very basic standard decks, most of the time they don't even know that you can block one creature with two.I'm pulling out this http://www.mtgvault.com/razka/decks/blue-essence/And teach them a couple things. The hard way. xD
