Deck Description

Likelink may be one of the most underrated keyword abilities in the game. People say that gaining life is a waste because all it does is stall the game out. But what about decks with late-game winners? The ability to gain life whenever your creatures attack can be the difference between losing on turn 5 and on turn 8.

Deck discussion for Touch of Life

what about transcendent master as a second win option power him up then hit hard

I thought about him, but I decided he wasn't worth the mana investment. He is not really that useful until you level him up a lot, and a Transcendent Master with say 4 level tokens is a prime target for burn or removal. Thanks for the suggestion!

Nice idea mate. I haven't had a chance to playtest this deck yet, but I see your point, and threw in 4x Preordain, and adjusted the mana base a bit. What do you think now?

Also, I'll check out your deck right away.

Whenever someone says the classic "Life gain sucks" line, I flat-out laugh in their face.

Oh damn, I meant to put this in the first post. Ditch the Child of Night(s), frickin' terrible vampire card (sorry, it just is). In their place put in Ajani's Pridemate. Those dudes with the "Soul Sisters" get MASSIVE very fast.

Also, you should look into adding in Ajani's Mantra. Personally, I think your best bet for this is to lose the blue stuff altogether. =]

Thanks for the tips man. I've ended up dropping Blue as ou suggested, and while refilling m deck I came across a few interesting things. If I'm gaining a good amount of life, why not have Lacerators? Or Sign in Blood? Those cards get much better from the point of view of having 30 life than having 20. Also, I replaced Grave Titan with Baneslayer. It may seem a bit odd, but in my play-testing 5 mana seems to be the peak. Out of 50 games, I hit 6 mana by turn 8 only 11 times, while I hit 5 mana a whopping 35 times! The difference there is rediculous. I'm also concidering dropping the Wurmcoils for Baneslaer, but Wurmcoil is too damn epic...

I'd stay away from using BS angels. It might just be in my play-group, but people just love to blast her out of the sky.

I think you should only keep the Ajani's, take out your Basilisk Collars, and add in 4 Ajani's Mantra. That card is WAAAAAAAAY better than people think (especially when used with Ajani's Pridemate).

I must say I have never been impressed with the Mantra until I playtested it in this deck. Wow.

Also, Dark Tutilage is awesome in this deck.

Not sure I like how Wurmcoil streatches out the mana curve.... any repacement ideas?

Nah, keep them. It works as a great bomb, and won't hurt "too" much from the Tutalage. Plus, they're sort of the thing that ties the whole deck together. =]
