Deck discussion for [Modern] Taxes

Nice mana curve, you might run into some problems when an opponent gets into midgame though. Serra Avenger seems a bit of a dead card for any kind of rush.

Avenger is a freakin beast indeed. It has been errata'd to say "cast", so its a legit turn 3 play off of an Aether Vial. And when I have a half-dozen dudes that don't let you use fetchlands, "mid game" takes a while to get to. My favorite dick move with this deck is if you have 2 Vials, in response to a fetch vial in Arbiter, then in response vial in SFM. SFM resolves first, giving you the equipment, then Arbiter, and then the fetch... which they can't do, even though they have already sac'd and payed a life.

Although it actually might be Flickerwisp and Mangara... I'll let you figure that synergy out ;)

This is crazy good! I've always played WW as pure, thoughtless aggro. It's funny that I never thought to take a good look at the white creatures available to play control, too.

@Buddysystem, with regards to my last comment on your WW. Since Joe is running a hefty amount of 3 cmc creatures, Aether Vial is king in this deck. There's a fine line but huge impact between 2 and 3 CMC drops and their affect on your mid game tempo, and Aether Vial allows you to completely ignore that. Your deck is almost all 1 & 2 cmc drops.. so.. that's pretty much what I meant by my comment.

Back to Joe, since you are running a full set of Vials, what do you think about Voidstone Gargoyle in place of Revoker? I don't know how consistent it would be but I do know that whenever I ran a full set of Vials I'd always wind up with one or two that don't do anything all game, and those could easily charge up to 5 for Voidstone. It's much better control, imo, but the only downside is the timing of it. Revoker might be more useful because you can get it second turn instead of fifth. Just a thought.

Voidstone is interesting but I feel he's win-more. If I'm in a situation where I have extra vials like that, I'm kicking them enough that it doesmt really matter.

Would you not suffer from running out of cards in hand? Is Sword of fire and Ice enough for drawing?
Only thing I could think of Oblation. You could combo it with Mangara of Corondor or a Æther Vial if you get one to spare? But other than that I can't think of anything.
Also isn't 4 Flickerwisp a bit much? I see than you can use it with Phyrexian Revoker and perhaps the Stoneforge Mystic. But they are both creatures, so wouldn't it be better to use a Galepowder Mage or is the 4CMC too much?

Flivkerwisp is just amazing. You can also use him to bounce Mangara, which is a very epic play. Don't forget he is also a decent beater. In generally, I never really feel I don't want to draw him
