regrettably I have not yet taken the plunge for it yet. Without a doubt when I get one it'll find a slot here. On another note however a point that can be earned in our group is actually for destroying a top along with a few of the maze lands.

I agree that the list will get a good boost from the upcoming set I just wanted to try something different. I've never been too content with just two colors when we have access to as many dual lands as we currently do. The main card I was looking to add was lingering souls to the classic UW list just because for one it gives you a good card against nearly any type of deck. Gotta appreciate how smoothly the normal UW list does run though so I agree 100% with you there. Thanks for the comment

Thanks a ton for the input I will deffinetly be trying out all of the suggestions. I am a bug fan of sever so I like that a lot. Also thank you for the big input on the mana base I think that will allow the deck to run smoothly.

I don't have time to comment yet but I shall on your RWU deck. That is the other variation I was considering I just really love the addition of lingering souls although the addition of burn I'm sure is huge. I think snapcaster would be even more powerful in your list.

For the slag storm, if you were to find it necessary even (the sideboard would be more than a fine place for it for now I think), I think if you were unhappy with Defy death that'd be a good choice and maybe 1 dangerous wager. Just a thought. Also what are your feelings on the new angel Gisela for this?

Idk if it's too early for me, but I figured I'd post anyone just let you know, but i believe you have either forgotten or accidentally taken out your unburial rites from the list. Now knowing that they are really supposed to be there, I like the list a lot except for may malignus and maybe Griselbrand. I say maybe on Griselbrand because he could turn out to be amazing but who knows. So yeah I'd say swap out the Malignus and one other big guy.

The only other issue I can see is that you won't do anything really from turns 1-3 except loot really so maybe adding a Liliana or some slagstorm could help those early turns out.

well the way I see it having lunge in there almost functions as a tutoring mechanism if he somehow is milled away. It is really a worst case scenario card in most cases however in the sense that it clearly is the one win condition and as such if it it destroyed or countered there isn't a lot left to do. Because it gives haste it can allow you win quickly when your opponent isn't prepared. I will say that I haven't play tested this yet and it is experimental for me atleast but I think it deserves a spot

Thanks for the comment. That's a very interesting point about the scholar I really like that idea. Have to see if the turn 3 drop instead of 2 is worth it. Also thanks for mentioning the archivist he's a great choice. And thoughts on how to fit the archivist in?

wow yeah props for the spellskite idea he fits perfect in here. another combo target for the ooze too so even if I mill him. Would you think that taking out the maniac and a doom blade for black sun would be a logical choice? I'll also have to test out azure mage. Might just add another looter and a Jace or something. Making changes later when I'm off my phone. Thanks for the input!! Got anything I should check out for you?

funny in my games I don't recall always having a mana leak whenever i felt like it. I mean unless you play a deck similar to one as good as this with 4 snapcasters. Anyway, try to post something relevant.

As to the deck I very much like the design except that you don't have much of a middle game. Sorta starts of strong and would finish well if it got there. Many try forbidden alchemy to dig faster and look at unburial rites to make Liliana's discard even better. It is a pain to want to cast white but it gives you a much better middle game.

This an awesome build. I do just have one question though in that I'm curious as to why you'd prefer geth's verdict to a targeted kill spell? Just want to see you're reasoning for it as I'm looking to get into other formats beyond standard.

I play a more regular mono black control deck but this has certainly got my attention. I'd love to know how your new version fairs. A little advice I can give would be against those stupid infect decks you mentioned, you may want to consider siding despise to take out duress. The decks usually run less creatures in favor of pump so if you take out the target it'll let the game last a tad longer haha. but anyway freat deck

I'm not sure I like the idea of Praetor's Grasp. 3 mana and I only get to remove 1 card. I'd say sadistic sacrament is much more efficient. I may be able to play said card but if it was one I wanted very badly then it should be in my deck already. Thanks for the comment though

Yeah I think Lilliana could be a great late game threat. Do you feel I should board out the doom blades or the dismembers in order to make room for Lilianna or Inquisition?

Its not necessarily that I question them. Those spells would work. I would however feel that straight counters would be more efficient such as maybe mana leak. Rather than returning the threat to their hand so they may play it again, i feel cancelling it altogether is more efficient. I also still like preordain more than ponder but that honestly is more of a personal thing. Again its not that I don't like your choices I think I personally might go a more countering route.

I feel like you were looking to just use M12 cards but in case I would strongly suggest both tumble magnets and shrine of the burning rage in order to cause damage without tapping mana. Great idea though.

Big fan of illusions, very nice deck creature wise. I am curious about the spell choices however. I feel like there may be better choices for them but I don't play blue standard so I can't be much help. Great deck though
