Deck discussion for Green Eldrazi Ramp(Format:Modern)

Urza+Eldrazi=Rape. Why no eldrazi temple?

i did a few play-tests with temple in there and it actually felt like it slowed me down. also i had a much lower chance of getting forests which i still need. the deck became ridiculously inconsistent basically.

cloud postx4, and shrine of boundless growth. and of course skittering invasion. another tack you could take is elves/eldrazi. throw in a few joraga treespeakers and a some other... you can get mana dang fast. Oh, also, I would go -1 vine trellis, and +1 overgrown battlesments. the battlesments is like the trellis on steroids. same cmc, and same P/T, but much more usefull ability. pumps up your mana producing capability tremendously.

cloud post is banned in modern or i would have 4 of them :)

what would you suggest i take out to make room for the skittering/boundless/treespeakers if i were to add them?

well, if you did the treespeakers, then you would want to comepletely change the whole deck, so unless you want to do that... I wouldn't put them in. As for the skittering, and the shrines... Like I said earlier the vine trellis could go, and maybe the explore. I don't care a whole lot for explore, but that is my opinon. Haven't seen many people make good use of it. But, I haven't been around many tourneys so... I am just guessing on that.

The explore is to help me draw a bit and get urza's down sooner. i opted for the vine trellis because they can't simply be bolted like most mana generators. i will play around with the skittering and shrine tho, thank you for the feedback.

The elves/nazi works really well
(llanowar elves, fyndhorn elves + priest of titania/elvish archdruid)

priest of titania/elvish archdruid go infinite with sword of the paruns if you've got just 4 elves on the table...

quintessence I see what you mean. some lands look so great at first, then you cut them after two play tests. haha

yep, happens all the time. looks great on paper but then you actually play with it and YUCK!

ooh, random other thought. you could actually sideboard all of you big eldrazi, and ut in 4 spawnsire of ulamogs in, plus a few other things to fill up the space. spawnsire lets you play eldrazi cards that you own, from OUTSIDE THE GAME. You can play any numer of eldrazi cards from outside the game, for 20 mana. so... all of your big eldrazi can hit the field all at once, for 20 mana. which, with this deck, you should have no trouble putting out.

also, explosive growth might help, instead of the explores. gets you a land, and a spawn. Just a thought.

spawnsire could be interesting, i'll try that also.

as for the explosive growth, i believe you are thinking of growth spasm.

yeah, thats what I meant. gosh... must be getting tired. *slaps head in shame.*

How about Garruk, primal hunter. 10-15 cards in one turn is really nice! Awakening zone is nice as well. (I'm not a modern player, so I don't know if those cards will be helpful to you at all.) Anyway, good luck!

I would highly recommend getting 1-2 Eye of Ugins back in. You might not think theyll be as helpful as you cant get mana from them but believe me, they make a huge difference in my mono-white eldrazi deck (http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=199328).

i would take out the walls in exchange for mana elves and/or some more ramp. If Rampant Growth is a magnificent card, which it is, Harrow is just ridiculously good. Tap 3 lands, sacrifice 1 of them, get 2 untapped lands, cast something else, like Growth Spasm (which is a really good card too.)

which walls woud you take out?

0

The trellises and the wall of roots. The trellises are just worse Battlements, and i dont think the roots are modern. In exchange, 4 Harrows.

Also, -4 Ancient Stirrings for 4 Growth Spasms, and -2 Forests for 2 Eye of Ugins. The Eyes provide a much better tutor for your bombs than the stirrings, as the spasms are great 2 drops.

the stirrings are also to tutor for my urza lands tho, so they are dual tutors basically. the wall of roots were time shifted so they are modern legal.

i will play around with the -2x forests for +2x eye of ugin but i don't think it will really help much.

ok, that is what I thought, though I wanted to be sure... :)

If you really want to do this you should be using Elvish piper and/or Quicksilver amulet.

I hope you know that 3-4th turn eldrazi makes games not fun and people will cease to play with you when you use this deck.

actually I beg to differ. admitedly I like a more competitive game, so do most of the people that I play with.

But, I think that most people would like a good challenge to help them improve their deck building skills.

I would consider putting 4 Quicksilver Amulets or 4 Elvish Piper. Looks good though.

I feel that a couple Eye of Ugin would help you crank the eldrazi out faster, other than that, looks awesome!

Interesting Deck idea, gotta love eldazi.
Do you really need that many of the eldrazi in there? It seems by the time you have the mana to play them and with ancient stirrings you would only need three or four, not five.
Also you should see my concept for some eldrazi ramp, I used elfs for mine.
