Why the Undiscovered Paradise?
Because the deck used to feature Ob Nixilis instead of Abhorrent Overlord. Thank you for reminding me to fix that.
I think it´s awesome, the way you can get 'Morbid' every turn. Also, Demons can and will mess with you, or your mind, or both. And to me, this is no exception. Very well put together =) Have you thought of adding Griselbrand to the mix? Or maybe an Elbrus, just to squeeze the living Hell out´a someone? ]:-}
Thank you, it is one of my favorites among my assorted tribal decks. I also agree, if you are to ask the favor of demons, you had best expect to give up something of your own in return. I was hoping to capture that aspect and flavor in this design and I think I managed to do so.I personally cannot stand Griselbrand. I think it was a massive design mistake by wizards and I will stand by that indefinitely.
I didn´t know you hated 'the pig' (in Denmark we call a pig, 'Gris') but I can somewhat understand your feelings towards that card. I made a reanimator with him once, so if by you saying you can´t stand the card, is it towards the unfairness it brings? Elbrus, the Binding Blade could very well be a deal with a demon, but it has a high CMC and your Heartless Summoning won´t do much to aid.So what I´m trying to say is; the deck is good as it is, and well thought of =) I bet you kick some rears with this. Flavor-wise I´d add a full ps of 'Cabal Ritual' - the art on that card could very well reflect a summoning, and the flavor also, plus you get a shirt-load of mana, quick.Cheers
No, I actually have little care in the regards of Griselbrand's effect on balance and such, that kind of thing always eventually levels itself out. What I hate is that in a game that celebrates complexity and an individual's flare, where decks can differ on the very whim of their creator, this /one/ card has brought a bland monotone to countless decks. Decks that were once so varied and interesting now simply run Griselbrand. It's the stagnation of creativity that Griselbrand brought that I cannot stand.
