Deck Description

//Hello, my name is Artemis. I am a friend of who you all know as "surewhynot". This deck was posted originally, by my permission, onto his profile. However, seeing as I now have a profile on this website, I am posting it here as well.//

This deck is a personal favorite of mine. As the name implies, it is a nigh-impenetrable fortress, but one of spells, artifacts, and enchantments in place of brick, mortar, and steel. A classic Esper Prison fine-tuned through the years by yours truly. The deck can be made Vintage legal with modifications from the sideboard for amusement's sake.

I will post the others at a later time. I wanted to get my name "out there", so to speak, as soon as I could. These two decks were easy to post since I could simply copy and paste them from your profile to their "true" home, here. They will serve their purpose until I have enough free time to post anything else. When I will have free time next is highly debatable, but I am a control player. I am, by reputation, patient.

You going to put your house on the market to buy this or what?

I am a Senior Audit Accounting Director, so this deck is well within my budget. Besides, a majority of these cards were in my possession well before their price went as high as they are now. It has only been in the last few years that card prices have gone so remarkably high.

pretty cool deck!
sen triplets isnt the best though.and why are you playing windborn muse? if you want another effect like that play a 4th propaganda instead, its alot less susceptible to removal - and costs less mana.

painfull quandry is just completely useless considering your deck stops the opponent from playing spells. this just boggles my mind that your playing this. everything about this deck seems well thought out, but that is literally useless..

tainted aether is pretty weak too. The effect isnt terrible but for 4 mana you have much better options. play moat or humility. staples of most stax decks that your not playing!

i do like it though. alot of my favorite cards are in this deck. winter orb has been my favorite magic card for years.
this could probably use a lil tweaking to get to its full potential though

i actually have a winter orb/ stax deck brewed up for legacy play that i think you would be pretty into

I have to completely disagree with you as far as the Sen Triplets go. They are a win condition of this deck, and do so brilliantly. Playing your opponent's spells when they cannot play them themselves is a diabolical and remarkably effective way to beat them.

The Muse exists as it does because I like to have a consistently available evasive chisel. If you have any suggestions for a more effective chisel that is as consistent, I would appreciate a second opinion.

Both Painfull Quandry and Tainted Aether are incorrectly listed. I took Painful Quandry out of the deck ages ago, and Tainted Aether is supposed to be Nether Void. Chalk that up to surewhynot for incorrectly posting my deck, and myself for failing to realize until now that I had copy/pasted an incorrect deck. Simple human error.
