This is for multiplayer, mostly Pentagram games, but also for 2 on 2. The environment is Vintage, but we don't play cutthroat. It's just that we are all veterans that play since 1994 and never stopped including old cards. The idea is to keep it simple this time. I got the Stonebrows and Stonewood Invocations recently and just had to build a deck around them. The idea is to have lots of tramplers and just attack while the Invocations make sure I'll trample through without removal ruining the day. My pals are relying heavily on spotremoval, so this should rell them a lesson or two. I am still vulnerable to mass revomal, though, that's why I want a high creature count and don't want to waste many slots on mana acceleration or removal spells on my own. And that's also why my creatures shold mostly be mid-range and not too many high casting costs. We don't use sideboards in multiplayer, cards in the sideboard are cards I consider adding. What I am looking for:* Quality tramplers that fit.* Utility that doesn't dilute the deck.
I am aiming for a midgame win before the more ridiculous cards have hit the game. Stonewood Invocation should never be used just to do more damage. I'll save it until somebody tries to kill them with removal or blocks it with something bigger.Similarily I won't use Word of Seizing just to do some more damage, I'll wait for the right time, for example when I need to remove a problematic blocker, Maze of Ith or similar. Both Invocation and the word have split second, so they cannot be countered. Furthermore, the opponent can't use the permanent I am going to steal in response and the Invocation also grants Shroud. This will be a pain in the ass for my buddies because many of them rely on their spotremoval and good timing of effects. At least 3 of them are masters in holding back their options for the last possible moment - this will teach them a lesson, hopefully.

Well, it was only a matter of time before I spammed you with a project :DI usually focus on mill, so you've escaped my busy mind untill now.Considering our past in phyrexia with all the fun times discussing evolution, I think you might enjoy this new trend that I'm trying to start. It's a new way to build new decktypes, and There's a slight chance that I've told some hints about it in the past, but now I'm trying to open up the idea to a greater audience :)I hereby invite you to participate in a brand new trend in deckdesigning that might change the future of how to design decks.Shortly told, there are two ways that new decktypes are made, the first is by designing something new, the second is by taking the best parts of two older decks, mix it together and you got a new decktype!!!What I suggest is a turbo-version of mixing two different decktypes into a new one. You simply split up existing designs into deckhalves (Called halfdecks) that are designed so that they keep as much of the origanal themes of a deck intact, and so that the half can be thrown together with almost any other halfdeck deigned in the future.Splitting a deck up in two times 30 cards is not so easy as it sounds, so initially this trend will start out slowly, and if enough people adapt the idea it will probably explode into radical new decktypes made from decks designed with halfdecking in mind. To get a better understanding of the concept you might need to take a look at the first 3 deckhalves I've made as examples. (Bear in mind that they were designed very roughly from memory)I will improve these designs and add other deckhalves as fast as possible to start up the trend.YOU, and everyone else that recieve this "spam" are welcome to start up your own version of this project, as it is intended to become everyones, and only by letting several minds work on it independently will it take on a better shape and spread out as a new deckbuilding tool.Contact me at any time, with any questions you may have. I only have one wish on how this new trend can be spread. If everyone involved tag their decks as halfdecks then the future halfdeck community may simply write halfdeck in the decksearching function to find what they are looking for!The first half of a "death and taxes"-deck: (Only a sketch, not the real thing)http://www.mtgvault.com/wickeddarkman/decks/legacy-halfdeck-001/The second half of a "death and taxes"-deck: (Only a sketch, not the real thing)http://www.mtgvault.com/wickeddarkman/decks/legacy-halfdeck-002/The red half of a U/R delver-deck: (Only a sketch, not the real thing)http://www.mtgvault.com/wickeddarkman/decks/legacy-halfdeck-003/

Meanwhile I filled all open slots, assembled the deck and played it. Worked better than I thought, won most games and if so in spectacular ways (best was two Spectral Forces with entwined Savage Beating) but there was also quite some luck of circumstances involved. I rarely needed the Stonewood Invocations and haven't played a Word of Seizing yet ... my opponents just shredded each other or wiped the board in a timely fashion that suited me or just didn't draw the right answers. Which means the true test is still due.Still looking for alternative creatures that would fit the bill: should trample, should not cost more than about 5 mana, high power and an effect that helps in the areas where I am lacking, mostly card draw(card advantage) and removal.
Barbed shocker? Otherwise you will have to use some other cards that does not fit your color theme!
What is Barbed Shocker supposed to do in this deck? It's no symmetrical Windfall, it only affects the player it damages.I was thinking Momentous Fall but hesitated because it isn't a creature. Best thing I can think of right now is Garruk, Primal Hunter. He isn't a creature either but can produce creatures. And his draw-effect doesnt cost mana once he hit play, so I can use it after combat to sac a creature I pumped with Stonewood Invocation.
Thinking more about it, Primal Hunter is next to perfect for this deck, I just have to trade for one.
The barbed was within your max cost-range, had trample and draw. Thats a 3 out of 5 on your demand-list :D
But my opponent draws, not me ;)
