This is entry #2 for the Obscure Card Challenge:http://www.mtgvault.com/puschkin/decks/obscure-card-challenge-occ/The challenge was to build a deck around Stronghold Discipline which lets every player lose 1 life for each creature he has in play. So, I use Forbidden Orchard, Varchild's Warriders and Tombstone Stairwell to give my opponents massive amounts of token creatures. Mogg Infestation kills those creatures off and then gives them twice as many tokens.Additionally to punish them for having tokens with the Stronghold Discipline they will also suffer when the tokens die (thanks to Dingus Staff) and even as soon as they get the tokens (because of Blood Artist). Blood Artist, Crawlspace and Glacial Chasm keep you alive. This deck only runs 8 cratures and naturally they will draw all the spotremoval. So I added 4 Unearth to get them back. --------------------------------------------------I tried to keep this deck Legacy legal and cheap. If you don't mind going Vintage and can afford older powercards (or proxy), the sideboard contains cards for a low-powered Vintage version. It also contains 4 Rakdos Charms that are technically way better than Stronghold Discipline and would replace them if this wasn't a challenge deck to specifically run Stronghold Discipline :)
I think I explained everything in the section above. Some minor things:Remember that you can cycle Unearth if you don't need it.Glacial Chasm has horrendous upkeep and restrictions, so save this baby for the last possible moment. Be aware of Strip Mines and Wastelands!

Nicely done. Don't you think Darkness would be worth it to add?

No :)I prefer Glacial Chasm since it protects me for more than one turn and from everything, not just creature attacks. In conjuction with Crawlspace that should be enough. Darkness just buys me one more turn to draw what I need - I'd rather draw what I need in the first place.I might add tutors but the good ones will make this deck Vintage.
You could also go all the way with each creature dealing damage to its controller, using Rakdos Charm. 2 mana, instant speed, and 2 other spells which I forgot :p
Yes but the challange was to use specifically Stronghold Discipline :PRakdos Charm is a great card (like most ofthe Charms) but since I can't replace the Disciplines and don't think I'll need this effect 8 times, I skipped on it. But I will add him to the sideboard and make a comment in the description so that anybody building this deck for home use will use the Charm instead of the Discipline.
Good idea :-)
