The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

While building another deck it struck me how many zombie "lords" we have got meanwhile. Zombie decks usually include about 4-6 of these lord types, typcially either the best ones (a mix of Lord of the Undead, Death Baron and Undead Warchief) or, lacking those, the ones you can afford, like Cemetery Reaper. Then you add zombies of your likings. The lords pump those other zombies and give them additional abilities. But you have a main base of "regular" zombies. But, with no less than 8 lords in existance now, I thought, hey, why not build a deck running exclusively those lords? No matter which one you draw, they make each other stronger because all of them have the zombie subtype (even tho older ones like Zombie master do, they have been errata'd). It's like a sliver deck, but with zombies. Then I added Call to the Grave because that was the easiest way to handle creatures when you go all-out zombie and want to keep the deck being playble in multiplayer. Since all lords cost 3 or 4 mana I added Dark Rituals. After adding mana, at that point, only 2 slots were open. So I looked for an equipment that could be played before the lords hit play and stopped at Livewire Lash because I thought "hey, all this deck will be doing is playing a zombie each turn and the Lash hurst people for dealing with your zombies". That and because I recently traded for them and wanted to use them :P I am sure there are better alternatives but for now that's what I am going with. This deck was made for the heck of it and I don't own most of the lords in playsets, so I doubt it will ever see actual play from my side. That's why it doesn't run any other removal, lifegain and so on which I usually always recommend for multiplayer decks. This is one of the very few decks that I made single-minded instead of well-rounded. May the unholy blessing be with the deck as it is.
I don't know, this isn't really meant to be built and just a fun exercise like my deck that proves you can built a green deck entirely made of flyers http://www.mtgvault.com/puschkin/decks/green-decks-cant-fly/But if someone really built this or tried this on something like Cockatrice my advice would simply be:Play a lord every turn but start with the weaker ones. You want your opponent to spend their removal on Reapers, Excecutioners, Zombie Lords and Captains before you drop a Lord of the Undead or Death Baron. Although Zombie Lord (the ur-Lord :) ) is probably a lot better in this deck than in regular zombie decks. Because most zombies regenerate anyway. With lords-only, though, Zombie Lord will probably be more valueable.

Definitely cool idea, rooftop storm and endless ranks of the dead are the only 2 things I can think of, maybe grave betrayal.

Endless Ranks will probably not work because it (or rather this deck) is too slow: I have no cheap zombies. Grave Betrayal on the other hand is too expensive and probably "win more". Rooftop Storm, however, might be very good for this! Especially when I am able to Ritual one out in turn 4. Added 2 at the cost of one CallThx!
Looks really cool and fun.The only thing I can think of adding is either removal or counterspells, to both protect your lords and make sure you can survive the early game.
As I said this deck was made for the lols and not intended to actually build it. Don't waste your energy on it :)I will publish my newest creation soon, you might try your hand on that. Stay tuned.

Where is Lord of the Pit? Best Lord card in the game.
Doesn't fit neither the theme nor the mana curve. Wasn't going for "Lord" in their title, this is about the former "lord" creature type on Zombie Master, one of the three original lords that lead the first tribes of Magic (Zombie Master for zombies, Goblin King for Goblins and Lord of Atlantis for Merfolk - all of them in the original set Alpha). But yes, Lord of the Pit is still one of my favourite cards ever. Not as powerful as he used to be compared to all those ridiculous new creatures they print but me and my play group still hold "Pitty" in high regard. :)
I don't think I would ever run Lord of the Pit. Yea, it's nostalgic but it's also terrible. :p
Zombie Master + Urborg, Tomb of YawgmothAlso Zombies have many cmc1, 2power 1drops :)
I know. This deck wasn't meant to be played, it was just a demonstration how many "lords" there are meanwhile. I should remove it from my roster I think or at least make it private again.
nah it's fine, i was just expressing why i love the underrated zombie tribe.
Underrated? It's one of the most played as far as I can tell, right after goblins and elves. It's a bit slower than the other two but more robust and bulky. Especially in multiplayer, where mass removal is prelevant.
Well Zombies ARE very solid, but because of the existence of crazy combo kills in Elves and Goblins in Legacy and even Modern, Zombies are generally not seen as competitively viable... Merfolk is usually better as a beatdown tribal because of FoW.Have you looked at living Zombies, though? They're the second tribe with many 2mana lords, being four in total, while not as good:http://www.mtgvault.com/mrunbelievable/decks/hope-in-humanity/
Well, I am seeing this from the kitchen table perspective, or, let's say, overall Magic, not just tournaments. I have stopped playing competitvely about 10 years ago.
