Deck Description

This is my contribution to the halfdeck-project. Read about it here:
http://www.mtgvault.com/wickeddarkman/decks/halfdeck-deathsshadow/

This is my first try. I made a deck that makes sense as a 60 card deck and then split it. The split, however, is a painful process. As you can see, the mana curve turns out to be awful for the blue half (all creatures cost 2), I had to split the Rancors, the Mamamorphose would be better off in the half with the Tarmos but there is not room enough etc. ... so, this is the case where we've got two lesser halves for the sake of stable original deck.

Anyway, my extensive use of hybrid mana spells should make these halves easy to combine with other decks.

Deck discussion for Halfdeck - Wicked Tribute

Actually looks good, and I don't think I would have split it differently :D

your doubt of it is unjustified. Remember that some other halfdeck will be bound to fit one or both of these halves.

The tag WDM is my personal "trademark" to make it easy for people to search for decks I made, so you should make a PUSCHKIN-tag instead of a wdm-tag! :D

I think your sideboard half would fit very well with my maindeck half of the "death's/shadow".
And also your maindeck half would fit my sideboard half in "canadian/threshold".

I only put the wdm tag there to help your cause and spread the idea, I will change it then.

You have the halfdeck tag, and I've tried a testsearch long ago. It works without my name, and the concepts meant to be everyone and their mothers propperty :D

Besides I would turn as schizoid BADLUCK seemed to be, if I found 30-60 decks i never made, bearing my name!!!

Yeah, and I really don't want to see a battle between your shizoid and your paranoid personalities ... hey, I smell a theme-halfdeck right there ;)

something black-white?

No, black-blue of course, blue is the colour of mind.

Then it will have to be black blue white, because all schiz are in a good vs evil world. a grey zone.

Speaking of schizoids. I'm building a suicide red halfdeck right now where the suicide half fits "shadow" from my "death's/shadow". Will be done in 5 minutes...

Well, it was a fun halfdeck to build. Burn is not the most played in legacy, but it's done!

Personally I don't see the world in just black & white (or good and evil, that is). Maybe I'll build it soon, would be a hell of a theme deck.

NEWSFLASH:
So far we are 4 designers, wdm, puschkin, princecooshie101 and muktol.
Between us we have exactly 20 halfdecks.
(I've taken the liberty of naming some of them)

WICKEDDARKMAN:
"shardless": Beatdown with shardless agent and ancestral visions.
"Planeswalk": Deck with jace liliana, discard and counterspells.
"redsuicide": VERY suicidal red. Use only with lifegain halves or if you want to lose life!
"burn": Ordinary burn.
"death's": Counters discard and beaters
"shadow": Uses cards that cycle and brings lifeloss so you can beat with death's shadow.
"behemoth": Elfcombo based on big critters and natural order. Can go infi!
"elves": Elfcombo based on going infi and beating with many small elves.
"canadian": Counter, burn and delver.
"threshold": Nimble, goyf, daze and stifle with wasteland.
"death": Aggressive white half.
"taxes": Mana-locking white half.

PUSCHKIN:
"wicked": Beatdown, burn and trample.
"tribute": Evasion, trample and manipulation.

PRINCECOOSHIE101:
"super": BR beatdown.
"hostile": GR Beatdown.

MUKTOL:
"infinite mana": Makes infinite mana, but nothing else!
"mw equipment": Beatdown equipment.
"bgr jund": Very aggressive jund.
"discard-control": Discard and damage.

So far I have seen plenty of decks that might have a possible interaction with each other, so together we should have a bunch of decks we could make with what we got already...

You guys up for discussing if anything usefull might be there?

Don't have much time for this, I'll mostly provide deckhalves. Next thing I'll try is to build a control deck and look what a split into two halved will do to it.

S'okay!
Any support will do.
Added another "member" today :D

I've added a "primer" where I will try to outline the concept better in one part, and list all members and decks in the other.
That way you can just look at the primer once in a while, and see who's new and what new halfdecks have been made!
(And I won't have to pop up constantly...Like a troll in a box)

Half decks are very interesting. I do enjoy the idea.

Well, the other fans dumped it after a while, and my own projects are put in the background!
But feel free to add one and Ill archive it!

The main problem with the concept was that noone stumbled on some competitive halves that could make the concept jump into it's destined future. My own halves are well researched, but I'm to riggid at constructing stuff because I refrain from the generally used cards and use underdog stuff...

Nobody stumbled over good halves? Or nobody ever actually tried to combine them?

Noone has won tourneys and reported it, so I made the logical guess that noone has done either :C
There was a bunch of talented deckhalves and I remember trying out a hybrid between tinfish and my death shadows shadow part, which looked promising, but it was not modern legal which was my main focus at the time.
My own best hybrid BG with deathtouch wasn't good enough either, to win in modern, though it did some awesome stuff...
(At it's peak it got 9 points at one tourney)
