Main Deck (63 cards)

Sideboard (3 cards)

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

This is a fun multiplayer deck and concept:
Make all your stuff untouchable and then have fun with The Abyss, Takklemaggot, Chain of Acid, Necrotic Plague and Death Match. The opponents can't target your stuff and thus have to target their own or other player's stuff :)

Still looking for more tricks that work with this concept. However, when making suggestions, keep in mind that this is one of the few cases where Shroud is BETTER than Hexproof: For example, I could add Thrun but since I myself can still target him, I would have to sacrifice him to The Abyss. Likewise, don't suggest creature enchantments because most of my critters have Shroud.

As always: The cards in the sideboard are cards I am considering to add and/or that I still have to trade for.

How to Play

Build you army of untouchables and have fun with Abyss, Takklemaggot, Chain of Acid and Deathmatch. There are a few creatures without Shroud, protect them with the Anspect of Mongoose.

Some words about the City of Solitude: I don't have instants or activated abilities or anything else in this deck that I could cast or do during my opponent's turns, so City of Solitude denies the other players the ability to react as well. This is a huge advantage, especially against experienced players and sophisticated decks such as my buddies are. City will be particularily helpful when you cast your creatures that don't have shroud, you can play them and cast the Aspect of Mongoose on them without anybody responding with spotremoval. Also, with City of Solitude out, there won't be any surprises in combat, you will always know in advance if an attack is worthwhile and what you will lose. This is important since most of your creatures are compareably fragile (for multiplayer). Sure, the same applies for your opponents, but The Abyss, Takklemaggot and Deathmatch punish them for staying inactive for too long.

Deck discussion for Can't touch this

Why not add something like sigarda? I have a deck similar to this but just green white. And sigarda is wonderful

Sigarda has hexproof. As I said, in this deck, shroud is actually better than hexproof because it protects the creature from my own Abyss, Takklemaggot and Death Match.

Magus of the Abyss would be more budget-friendly than The Abyss, but you would have to give it shroud...
Also Humble Budoka is a cheap shroud creature. So is Scythe Tiger.

I own two Abyss but no Magus of the Abyss :) I don't put decks online for others to copy, I just use MTGVault as a tool to build and archive my decks and to get some help if necessary, so budget is no concern for me. But I agree that a third Abyss-effect might be needed. But I might as well add Demonic and/or Enlightened Tutor to just fetch what I have.

My decks are for multiplayer, speed isn't that big of an issue, and while Scythe Tiger may be cheap, he costs me a land, slowing me actually down. Humble Budoka, as an otherwise vanilla creature, doesn't make the cut - what's a 2/2 gonna do these days? Takklemaggot, Death Match and Abyss cost 4 mana each, so creatures can cost 3. I'd rather add some cc2 mana ramp than a vanilla shroud creature.

Sorry that my suggestions didn't help. I'm just always thinking the "budget-way", you know?

I know, no offense taken.
Also, many times even a suggestion that I don't incorporate will spawn other ideas in one way or another. Just by explaining why I won't use card X helps re-evaluating the deck.

Updated. First, I had to move some cards to the sideboard because they are in use somewhere else. Manabase adjusted. Cut Helix Pinnacle, didn't even know why it was there in the first place (just because it has shroud doesn't mean it should be in here). Chain of Acid down to 2 in order to keep it close to 60 cards (also, I realized that since creatures is the one thing it can't hit makes it less fun here, I need a lot of other cards to make Chain of Acid work). Added Molder Slug and upped Blastoderm to 4 to compensate for the losses. Also, finally got my hands on a Necrotic Plague that fits in nicely.

Played this deck a couple of times meanwhile. Worked great once. Didn't do much twice because I managed to completely draw one half of the deck but missed every single key card. Which is one of the reason I added the Scry-dualland I got recently. Death Match turned out to be very annoying to my opponents (read: it is good^^), considering trading for a second one. However, knowing me and my relationship to Murphy I will probably stop drawing Deatch Match once I have more than one ... anyway, this turned out to be a nice deck, provided I don't get overrun in the first couple of turns. It does, however, suffer from the fact that currently people are running lots of enchantment hate.

Added another Death Match because it kicked so much ass. Removed one copy of City of Solitude to make room for it.

Do you still play this deck? If so, Algae Gharial seems like it could be nice. :)

I still have it but rarely play it ...
The gharial is nice, but what to cut to make room for it?

About the only thing I see is Manamorphose. I'm arguably the worst person on the planet to ask the "what-to-take-out" question...seems like any card I could argue against, I could also argue for. (That's not ALWAYS the case, but your decks are generally very well thought-out.) ;)

That's one of the reasons why I run so many 1-ofs, if they fit, I have a hard time cutting the last copy. It's like I can hear that cards begging "Oh, please, you already considered me, this is probably the only chance I will EVER see play! PLEASE, I don't want to sit in the binder another 10 years ..." which is true, I mean, 80% of your collection is just eating dust.

LOL...seriously, I'm still laughing...my eyes are watering now!! I have so many cards crying out the same way, & my decks end-up being mostly singles, as well, for much the same reason. I have about 20 decks I play IRL, & if a card gets cut from 1 of them, it's probably going into exile...sad, but true.
