this idea came to me while eating breakfast. i love it when that happens. the idea is to ramp up into massive threats using the one and only Nirkana Revenant. she can be used as a mana-generator or as a threat in and of herself. if your opponent is getting too much board presence, throw down a death cloud with your pumped-mana and laugh as your bloodghasts go in for the win. death cloud and innocent blood hit the whole board indiscriminately, which is why bloodghasts are so brilliant here. just stick a land and boom. threat-city. buried alive+dark ritual is one of the best first turn plays this deck can make. stick 3 bloodghast in your graveyard and play a swamp next turn. for the rest of the game your opponent will have to struggle with recurring bloodghasts. innocent blood and death cloud also handily remove phyrexian negator from the board once the mid-game starts to get underway. negator is potentially the best black first turn drop in the game, but later on he becomes a liability. Sac him to the removal spells and grin like a maniac as you swing across an empty board at your opponent. tactically, it's best to either play nighthawks early and beat solidly... or to hold them in your hand and drop them after a big removal spell. playing them immediately before death cloud is a big mistake.

I like this. I too have made a black ramp deck, though mine's different. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=90750

nikarna reverants are awsome i run x 3 in my demon vampires ands nightmares deck, and shes such a key card great with coffers as you can pop her out on go 4 by go five shes attacking for 14 !, like the deathclouds its such a final play card, we all sac everything then presumably you have several bloodghasts in the graveyard that pop back and well game over as they have no land creatures ect to do anything about it ! - on that one gauntlet of power would work well here not only does he serve to give you mana early doors to fuel the death clouds the bloodghasts would hit that bit harder and the land you droped next turn would tap for an extra one getting you going again quicker - should they survive of course ! - just an idea top deckin as usual mate ! i know the idea is to plough through but is x 4 pherexian negator's a bit risky i had someone hit one with a shivan meteor once and never recovered ?
yeah the problem i was facing with the negators was that i wanted the first-turn consistency with dark ritual... but then of course there's the problem of drawing one late-game. hopefully if you sweep the board well enough, you'll be able to actually stick one out in the late game to help you out. also, you never want to have more than one creature on the board as long as negator is around. it's too risky otherwise. lands are vulnerable too so keep them in your hand. but it's all good. i find it's a fin card to play around because it has such nice stats for 3 mana.
abyssal persecutor is just 1 more expensive you can get rid with the death clouds and you wont loose so many permanents ? maybe run x2 of each
