Deck discussion for Death's Embrace

just a friendly reminder Bioshift cannot be in your BG deck.

Thanks for the comment. I was hoping someone would bring up bioshift. I still don't have a consensus on it though. Other decks that have BR decks have included Boros Reckoner, a RW minotaur, stating the either/or mana becomes a red only card. Still, I'm newish to all the formats, so any other perspectives are always welcome.
...I use Meren for my commander. Her return ability, I think, is better than Liliana, and easier to maintain with the experience counters...plus she's got that sexy, "I'm half-dead" thing going for her.

If you need to know the rules for commander/EDH then visit this website. click on the links to read around. otherwise the deck Construction tab explains the very basics.
http://mtgcommander.net/rules.php
Commander decks can only use colors of their commander's Identity. the identity of a commander is the mana cost of that legendary creature and any mana symbols that appear in the rules text in its text. i.e. Animar, Soul of Elements is a Blue, Red,and Green Creature because of it's mana cost.
Daghatar the Adamant is a White, Green, Black Commander white from his mana cost and since there are Black Green Hybrid mana symbols in his text.

Also if your looking for ideas with +1/+1 counters try these options.
http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Search/Default.aspx?page=1&action=advanced&color=%7C%5BG%5D%7C%5BB%5D+!%5BU%5D+!%5BW%5D+!%5BR%5D&text=+%5Bcounters%5D
I like using Gatherer since it helps with basic themes.
You migh also want to put your commander in the "sideboard" box so others can see what creature is your primary commander.

Hopefully this helps....

Dude,
There seems to be some serious heartache on the forums over what constitutes part of a commander's color identity, and what cards are restricted due to the coloring. Still, the bioshift is clearly out from what the examples on the format. Thanks for pointing it out. Luckily, this isn't a big part of the deck, and I will probably be building something new for serious play. Until recently, I have only been playing with my son, and a small local group, so mostly fun/theme decks and not anything really competitive.
Thanks again.

Well just remember that the official rules come from the mtgcommander website. most other people will have this wrong ive seen some really messed up ideas of what commander is.
but I do like the cards you added/changed it seems like itll work well. best of luck.
