Deck Description

This deck is a modified version of my not Modern legal Izzet deck that I've been playing in casual for a while now. It's now modern legal; basically taking out the Brainstorms and Rites of Flame to get there. I've replaced them with Telling Time and Manamorphose. Also, since the point of switching this to Modern would be to take it to a tournament, I put the Training Grounds back in, because they make the Guildmages explode the other guy the turn they come out.

How to Play

Without Rite of Flame, the infinite mana combo goes to Manamorphose. Even so, the Gelectrodes are doing the heavy lifting here until a Guildmage and a Training Ground hit the table. Simple enough: burn the opponent as fast as you can with the Gelectrodes to either supplement the damage, or pick off small annoying creatures. Bounce is there for larger, harder to kill threats (Blink of an Eye in sideboard for bouncing enchantments specifically; can be copied by the Guildmage with the Kicker paid for extra cards). The Guildmage/Training Grounds combo is immensely powerful, but not essential to a win.
