Deck Description

Boros Aggro deck for the new standard.

This is an anti-midrange aggro deck, for as far as it exists. In its initial concept it was a Mardu aggro deck, but the amount of self-inflicted land damage it takes is just too much for the little extra power gained. Midrange decks can also be aggressive, which mean I often just lost races as I dealt myself 6-8 damage.

Because there is no longer a supreme verdict and most decks look like they will be midrange with big creatures, Ride Down and Iroas, God of Victory are good answers to that kind of strategy. There are 4 Banishing lights as they enable devotion to the God of Victory. If that happens its just quite hard to lose the game.

Akroan Hoplite also enables good devotion and it has great synergy with Goblin Rabblemaster and Brimaz, King of Oreskos.

Deck discussion for Standard Boros Aggro KTK

Looks really good, I wonder about the exclusion of Chained to the Rock? Really efficient way to deal with big mid-range creatures.

If you have the time have a look at my (house) standard Boros deck:

Problem with that is, without Sacred Foundry, the deck needs to not play double white cards like Brimaz and go red/splash white to support it. I just never want to not be able to cast it. Deck is not red enough for it.

I ll have a look at yours too, thanks.

I'm surprised you think the deck isn't red enough, you do have 7 mountains in your deck but obviously your decision :).

7 Mountains is not nearly enough, you need 14 at least to make it work.

Why would I want that card?

because one of your tokens would be able to attack, and then be available to block two of your opponents creatures?

Except if your deck works properly, your opponent will not attack back because he cannot win that race, even if you dont have Brave the Sands. That card is more for a GW or BW aggro deck that does not have red in it.

I also dont like it as when I draw it, it could have been another creature that applied pressure. As a topdeck, its like Ride Down and Iroas, it does nothing on an empty board. I already have 6 of those cards so I dont need more.
