The Secret Lair doesn't let you reinterpret the text on cards or just ignore the comprehensive rules however you want. It does one thing and one thing only, and that is to ignore errata and play cards by their original ruling and not their current Oracle text. That one important distinction sadly undoes everything this deck was trying to do. Sorry.

Probably didn't include it for budget purposes. I'd personally replace the Darksteel Ingot with a Chromantic Lantern if I was gonna run it.
I have to agree, a lot of the Guild Charms are pretty powerful, while the Shard Charms are somewhat... lackluster.
