Devotion has become such a big thing in standard, but it mostly revolves around blue and red decks. I felt there was a lot I could do with white devotion to help Heliod do his thing, plus tap Nykthos for a lot of mana.
The curve of this deck is kind of funny since it doesn't really get going til turn 3, but it can crazy after that. I have Soldier of the Pantheon as the only legitimate turn 1 play. Hopeful Eidolon can be used as a creature in certain situations, but is mainly there to grant lifelink to other creatures like Precinct Captain, Boros Reckoner, and Fabled Hero. There's an obvious enchantment emphasis here which helps with things like Sphere of Safety and Ethereal Armor. Heliod is essential to getting max value out of those since he can pump out 2/1 enchantment creatures. He can also end up finishing games when you enchant him with powerful cards and swinging for death.
