Deck Description

Standard, B/U/G/W control...

How to Play

The main plan is Villainous Wealth here, but the Turtle is also an alternative, since I can cast wipes & have him stay alive... ...Pearl Lake Ancient is also an awesome finisher I can get from th sideboard(& the way I can Scry with my lands again & again using him)... ...Interpret the Signs is awesome here if you look at the mana curve... ...it's pretty nice even if I reveal a 3CMC card with it, but it's usually a 4-5CMC card if not higher... ...Ashiok fits in here perfectly & I have never used him be4 in any deck.......

It might seem that too many lands enter tapped, but all of them are Scry-Lands & many lands may damage me & I run no lifegain, but the control here is massive, so it's not a problem... ...I have to test this in a competative enviroment though... ...& I also have to get some of the cards still.......

Any thoughts for improvement?

Deck discussion for Perilous Wealth

OMG this s.it is sick! but very much life loss and no lifegain at all. the deck is probably not fast enough to stay alive against resellient aggro and mono green with all this life loss in it. but I could be wrong have you tested it and against what decks?

Yeah, that's my concern still, but it happens to work pretty well which I'm a little surprised about... ...many times, I end the game when having 3-8 lives(4-6 most of the time) against resellient aggro & the finest midrange decks, but I still beat them... ...I've tested it against most decktypes now & all competative, but still much to do since many decktypes haven't even born yet.......

I believe I can... ...but my chanses would be better with a different kind of deck...

I see you beat me to it. I might be running a similar version. I pulled a wealth at the prerelease and made a few people unhappy. +1 from me. I won't be very active as I don't have any sort of connection at hand.

Good luck, man! Didn't think anyone would build another deck like this one :) ...though it's still far from being complete...

the vault i hate to go against someone who use it and that wealth is also not fair

Vault is actually awesome, but he now can be removed easily if the opponent doesn't have 9 mana source when he/she cast it. In other formats, it's not even so good... ...Wealth is really, really bad in the best sense possible, but it can be dealt with as well... ...almost every counter in the format gets him & Thoughtseize's also fine against it.......

I think I like Jace's Ingenuity over Interpret the Signs in this deck, mostly because it is a guaranteed three cards drawn, and can be done at instant speed at the end of your opponents turn. I also think I'd swap the Bitter Revelations and Duneblast for Dissolves, or maybe some more downfalls or utter end; it just seems like these would be better options in my opinion.

...if you look at the curve in this deck, do you think after a Scry-3, I could draw less than 4 cards? I always draw 4-7 cards with Signs, only a couple times I drew 3...

Dissolve's Scry ability here is almost irrelavent since I run 13 Scry-lands & many times I keep my top card & then if I cast Dissolve, I'd just look at the same card again... ...Dissipate would be more relavent, but I've already considered it & it's not needed... ...with a deck like this, you don't really need counters in the main deck, cuz many aggro decks are present in standard now & counters - especially if you run a high-curve control deck - are too slow... ...I run 3 Negates in the sideboard, perhaps I should run 4, but that's all I need.......

This deck is about drawing lots of cards, finding the lands fast, controlling the board, protecting yourself from discard effects by drawing even more cards, so Thoughtseize & such could not get you off your game... ...I play 3 Wealth in the main deck & 1 more in the sideboard, cuz against aggro decks, it's even worth to play it for 6-7, though 7 is fine against other type of decks as well... ...I usually cast it for about 9 though & it's easy to get there.......

Alright that's fair, you seem like you're going a certain direction for this deck so I'll stop suggesting stuff for now, only because I don't fully understand it yet.

...though if only we still had Urban Evolution, I'd use it over Signs & 1 Bitter Revelation... ...then I'd even drop the Read the Bones & for the 2 remeaning space, I'd put in another Downfall & a Deadly Slice...

Perhaps, try it out, mate... ...see how you'd draw against competative decks of all kinds, you'll see that it works... ...though it's still incomplete... ...needs more testing.......

I agree with maumau17. even if its not a bad card it still has a condition which could beckfire so Id use something else and also adjust the curve a little

ok this is nasty but if you can protect ashiok. may be change ashiok for more destruction

Ashiok here is amazing... ...casting it after a wipe gives you a huge adventage & having 3 of him makes it able to draw damage to him from attackers, keeping you alive, then just playing another... ...with as much draw effects as I have here, it's not hard to achive.......
