White removal murks the troll so hard terminus oblivion ring detention sphere
The reason jund runs so high into the midrange is it gives the deck resilience where it wouldn't normally have where as this deck your worst matchup is anything white or white blue
4x thragtusk fixes that somewhat as does 2x vraska
It you can go balls to the wall Aggro and do this
http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=399605
As you are currently yor mixing the two for a slightly less potent version still looks solid but like I said all white removal and white blue espically could merk this deck

True... ...those spells wich exiles permanents, or get them back into my hand, buttom of library, or top of library could really mass the flow up... ...though, I've made this deck directly with a little higher mana cost, so I'd have potential finishers in my hand, when needed... :)

That's why I have 2 more Thrag & 1 more Olivia in the sideboards...

I have Golgari Charm for Detention Sphere, Oblivion Ring, Arrest, Encrust, Pacifism & Supreme Verdict(regenerate)... ...but also for mana creatures & small tokens as well... I might need to run 4 of it...

With Abrupt Decay, I could also eleminate Detention Sphere & it's likes...

I have Slaughter Games as well... ...I can exile finishers &/or troublesome mass removal spells...

What left that could mean a little trouble are Find Hunter, Dungeon Geists & Angel of Serenety... I could eleminate theese by any of my removal spells, except with Decay, I can only kill the Hunter... :)

...though, you are basically right... ...this decks weakness is W/U...

...1 more thing... "Haste" is great against control decks... If the opponent has no instant removal in hand, that could stop more, than 1 creatures at a turn, than if I have a creature on board & play Mangler, or Aristocrat, I'll strike in with at least 1 creature... :)

Rancor would be a nice idea here, since I play both Gravecrawler & Thragtusk... ...but I donno' how I could find space for it... ...it's not nesesary tho...

1 more Vraska would be nice, but what could I take out?..

If I may make a suggestion? I don't see another zombie so instead of Gravecrawler would you run Rakdos Shred-Freak?

Eh nvm disregard. Deck moves quicker with that one drop.

Look closely, my man!.. :)

I have Dreg Mangler, Slitherhead & Lotleth Troll... ...& 4 Gravecrawler...

I can discard him for the Troll, than play it & sacrifice it for the Aristocrat & play it again & again & again & again & again... :)

I can sacrifice Slitherhead for Aristocrat, than scavange it for Aristocrat, or for Troll, or for anything... :)
...same goes by Dreg Mangler...

The Shread Freak is a shi.ty card... Cackler would be better... ...but neither for this deck...

K Poet, this is a pretty solid deck, but you said you were building it to playtest. Best jund decks I've seen are running a lot fewer creatures in a more ramp-styled deck. They play 24 lands, 4 farseeks, some rakdos keyrunes, and a bunch of removal(some mix of abrupt decay, dreadbore, and pillar of flame) for the early turns, then Voldaren, Thragtusk, and Huntsmaster(about 10 total between these), bonfire(2-3), and Rakdos' return(usually 2). While this description isn't really a traditional "Jund" deck, its the strongest deck of the colors.

I've seen decks like that & they are way worse than this...

I don't need Pillar, 'cuz I have Rakdos Charm & Sever the Bloodline to deal with Undying, Gravecrawler & other grave stuff... ...& Sever is also good against tokens...

I combine Dreadbore & Abrupt Decay with Tragic Slip... ...if I play 2 at a turn, it's almost like a board wipe, except when the opponent playes lots of tokens & that is when Sever the bloodline comes into play... :)

I'm playing 7 total of Olivia, Thragtusk & the Huntmaster... & 3 in the sideboards...

...but my number1 player is the Aristicrat... ...check out what I replied to Az88 at 2 comments above yours & you'll get it, why I play the Troll & Aristocrat... :)

Thanks for your comment!.. :)

This is probably one of my favorite decks of yours honestly. I think there is some great synergy with the creatures; good choice of spells and land. Honestly there is one change that I would absolutely make. And I have a feeling you'll know what I'm gonna say before I say it. Vraksa, I will not waste space on a rant on how much I hate her and why I'll just live with this note, Thragtusk is a better 5 drop than her so I would make the switch.

Awesome deck though man, and I would seriously love some feedback from you on my modern deck I put together recently (and edited a little on trollking's suggestion): http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=401078

this deck is really fast! I like it! I don't really have any suggestions as you have removal, control. life-gain and finishers! Maybe I would suggest a bonfire of the damned in your sideboard to take care of token decks (which a lot of white decks are running these days, and you said white is the weakness). Other than that I've got nothing. Gonna be working on a rakdos discard burn deck soon so I'd love some feedback on it when posted!

Thanks!.. :)

I have Sever the Bloodline to deal with tokens... ...also Golgari Charm... ...& Rakdos charm is also good against token, with it's damage ability...

...looking forward to your deck!.. :)

hey poet! :) I have finalized my america control deck that you helped me with yesterday. I kept the sideboards and mana base you have put togeather.

I feel like I'm copying you a little :) but my deck is still different than youres and in the worst tense, way worse as well :) thank you for helping me with the list and tell me what would you change in the main deck. thanks again! :) http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=401550

I feel like blood artist would be happy in there with all the sacrificing going on when the atistocrat is on the battlefield.
It just have to sit there while you sac crawlers and sliterhead to the aristocrat. Geralf's messenger makes agood partner in this dance too.

1
Posted 02 November 2012 at 17:29

Blood Artist would fit the deck, but I can't take out a thing here...

Geralf's messanger is highly overraited... ...a 3 drop, that could easily be taken out by Pillar of Flame wich is the 2nd most used card in todayes standard... In a 3 color deck, it's ok to play it with a stabil mana base, like this, but sometimes... ...& not rearly... ...I could fail to cast him in the 3rd & may be even in the 4th turn...

Thanks for your suggestions!.. :)

What you said about messenger is true, but the reason pillar is so highly played IS that it kills messenger.

1
Posted 04 November 2012 at 03:13

Yup... ...but wether I play it, or not, most players run 3-4 Pillar in the main deck... ...I won't let them utilize it that much, by playing a 3 drop that could be killed by it...

Great jund deck I'm working on my first and it seems to be lacking something. I'm hoping for some suggestions. Don't mean to troll but I'm good with modern not so much with standard.

This is a solid list, but I think that the ones with more ramp and removal and fewer of the low cost creatures seem to do better. Able to drop a thragtusk, olivia, or huntmaster on 3 in many games and aggro never has a chance. Once you have 5 lands, you can keep dropping powerful beaters while your removal keeps opponents threats off the table. I lost to a deck like this a few weeks ago and decided to build my own. Heres my Jund, i know you're a good builder, so please take a look and suggest if you see anything I should change http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=401365

My small creatures are also for early game... ...but expecially for attracting the opponent's removal spells to keep my bigger creatures alive later...

I'm going to make a new control deck... ...probably Jund, or R/U/W, where I'll use 6 Keyrunes, control/removal spells, may be some big creatures & spells with X in their cost... :)

My only complaint to this deck is its not very budget-friendly haha.
Although this deck is really fast and annoying and I also think even some controls will have a hard time with this one.

And if you're also not busy, I'd need some help with my deck. I wanna keep it budget-friendly as much as possible as it's just for casual play. 300 dollars would be my max budget I think. Thanks!

Love this deck. Too bad I don't have $150 sitting around for those Olivias and Aristacrats. I would love to see you make a 4 colored jund / rites deck, one that stops early aggro, not just any run of the mill deck, but a PoetMaster deck :P.

If you could look at my Jund/rites deck and see what you would change, that would be awesome
