Deck discussion for Chain of Detention

Personally, I would take out 1 AEtherling, the Anger of the Gods, and the Stormbreath Dragons for a Spear of Heliod or 2, a couple other control cards, and another Dissolve maybe. That's my preference though since I like a lot of control and this deck looks to be more on the midrange side of control. The Angel of Serenity in sideboard may not the be best choice for this deck though since you have plenty of removal and not many targets for your own creatures. I'm not sure what your meta-game looks like but maybe either some more counter spells for control match-ups or something like Cyclonic Rift to overload for the aggro or permanent heavy decks. I would also suggest to run 2 Mutavaults at most just to smooth out the land, you might run into issues with Chained to the Rocks at times with only 8 Mountains. I personally would probably not run any Mutavaults in a 3 color deck just because of the land. I like the UWx control shells but sometimes I just like sticking to the 2 main colors just for easier land draw.

I hope some of this was helpful and as you playtest you may find you agree or disagree with some of my assessments and that's ok these are just some of my ideas from an initial look at the deck. Overall I like the deck and the idea behind it.

Thanks! Your suggestions sure made me think...

I make my control decks a little midrange style, because some of the Rakdos, Jund & Oros & Grixis players have 3-4 Slaughter Games in the sideboards to prey on control decks that have few finishers... ...the 3-4 Mutavault in my control decks are also there because of that(they can't exile lands with Slaughter Games)... ...even 1 Mutavault is enough to end the game when there isn't any blockers, or instant removal for it, but the removal part is why I have to run at least 3 of it.......

I play at lots of stores & that's why I have to make my decks universally competative, tough it's really not easy to do... ...this deck of mine is just an experiment, I haven't yet used it at a tournament... ...what I run is Esper control, Oros(RBW) control, R/G Devotion & Mono-blue Devotion...

Against fast aggro decks, I don't like to use too many counters, only 3-4 mainboard at most...

You are right about the Mountain issue... ...I haven't had problems with it yet, but I really have to change the concept of lands... ...I have to run 9-10 mountains.......
