Deck Description

theoretically turn 4 bolas with nightscape familiar, morgue toad, and 4 land. force your opponent to not get their hoard by using the archfiend, then steal their remaining creatures with olivia/bolas or just force them to sack them. swing for tons of damage with thraximundar, or hoard them with a late-game empty the pits/mob rule. if you pull ugin, immediately use the -x ability to boardwipe any potential threats. enjoy :)

What he is saying is that the likelihood of you getting the cards you need is slim to none. Trim the fat to improve consistency and right now you have a lot of fat.

What I think he is trying to say is that with so many one of cards it will be hard to draw what you need, when you need it. Diabolic Tutor is good to go find what you need at the time, but with only 2 in the deck again it is hard to get to it when you need it.

The dodgy cards are ones that seem to not be worth the mana or are risky to play.

Dead Drop looks good but 10 mana just to sac 2 creatures is a bit much. Steam Augury could bite you if you hit good cards you need and the opponent splits them in a way that you don't get the card/s you need.

I see a lot of sacrifice cards like bone splinters, tymaret and merciless executioner. But with only 18 creatures and most of them one ofs, you might find yourself in a position where you need to play one and not have a creature you can afford to sac to get the effect.

well, act of treason lets me use the opponent's creature for the sack, dead drop can exile my graveyard because really i have nothing that can leave the graveyard after it gets there except tymaret. you are correct, my creatures sac themselves to often. maybe some more 2/2 zombie tokens are in order? i get so much mana that olivia gets a lot of creatures from the opponent. if i don't have at least 8 mana by turn 10 i'm having a bad day with this deck.

i am editing the deck. another diabolic tutor, and invoke the firemind. with all that mana, drawing a fresh 7 isn't all that hard when the deck starts to slow down.

I'm not sure you're addressing the issue of the fat, what format is this?

For the combo, it would have to be legacy.

I love the good old Nicol Bolas.
I also adore the idea of casting him on turn 4.

actually, i need a ruling. does nightscape familiar trigger twice for izzet spells? the answer determines a turn 4 or turn 5 bolas

4-10-2004 If a spell is both blue and red, you pay {1} less, not {2} less.

It's a theoretical turn 5 not turn 4...
So you put the other blue and red familiar in there and that will stack for a total of 3 less.. But instead of the cluestones you might want to replace with signets plus a sol ring/thran dynamo. That way Bolas will have a much better chance.

Sorry but I dont get the deck concept.
Its a Vintage, with a really high mana curve.
The only concept of the deck seems to be sacrifice, but there is nothing in there to support that (except Dregscape Zombie)

Really trying to help here, but your deck build seems to be a different style then mine.
I guess randomness is alot of fun though :)

realized it needed an early game, so now there are 4 vampire nighthawk. this is meant to be casual, so i also added a card from conspiracy.

Vampire Nighthawk is an awsome card. Flying, Deathtouch and Lifelink all for 3 Mana is massive.
I noticed that you have many Zombies. Therefore, if you are just going for the Deathtouch "Death Baron" would be a nice idea?!
I have a Zombie Deck myself (http://www.mtgvault.com/germynator/decks/grown-zombie-modern/) if you want to get some ideas. I only play Modern though. Carrion Feeder would make my Deck extremely good but he is Vintage...

well i mostly do modern. i go to a weekly modern tournament and this deck has had moderate success. the large number of zombies is totally unintentional. they just happened to work well with sacrifice and i already had them
