Hi Daggerback5423. Thanks for the comment.

Ok. I'll take your bait. You're right they aren't complete shit they are just mostly (99.99999%) shit.

But really, can you name any white or red cards that are worst for as little mana?
And I'd love to know when is it good idea to remove just land from a graveyard?

I dare you to do suggest worst cards for the same mana cost.

They arent so bad. Most of them have a niche. All cards are bad in the wrong areas of play.

For example, mudhole is great in decks against molten vortex. its also great with decks focusing on ingest mill.

Scorching spear is great in a burn deck. those, shocks, and light-bolts are going to deal massive damage.

Hi Daggerback5423,

Ok. I'll take your bait again. Yes, any card can be bad if it is the wrong area of play. Especially, if card is put in the exile area (or out of game area) and their is no way to bring it back ;-).

Yes, I agree Mudhole would be good against a molten vortex deck that is sporting some weird combo like Fastbond Crucible of Worlds and Zuran Orb. But just how likely are you to go against such a deck? More importantly wouldn't Planar Void, Tormod's crypt, Leyline of the Void, and Relic of Progenitus be more likely cards to be used for graveyard hate?

I'm sorry I'm not familiar with ingest mill decks I looked up an example (http://www.mtgfanatic.com/decks/viewdeck.aspx?id=175175&page=1&pagesize=25)
and I don't see how Mudhole would either help or really hurt this particular ingest mill deck.
Please explain how mudhole could hurt an ingest mill deck.

"Scorching spear is great in a burn deck. " Ok, now I'm pretty sure your pulling my leg.
I'm sure I've never seen a scorching spear in any worthy burn deck. Even in a Beginner's Starter deck you'd be better off with a 1/1 goblin for 1 mana.

Again ask (you avoided answering).

I dare you to do suggest worst cards for the same mana cost.

Hi Umoonpuca,

Oh my gosh how did Ember shot not get put in any of the lists of worst cards?

In comparison even the follow cards look good that do the same thing as Ember Shot for less mana.

Withstand
Instant, 2W (3)
Prevent the next 3 damage that would be dealt to target creature or player this turn.
Draw a card.

and

Orcish Cannonade
Instant, 1RR (3)
Orcish Cannonade deals 2 damage to target creature or player and 3 damage to you.
Draw a card.

But is Ember shot strictly speaking worst than Thermal Blast or Scorching Spear?

Well..., Thermal blast costs 5 and only hits creatures and it doesn't offer a card back in return for playing the piece of crud. So I really have to say Thermal Blast is effectively more useless than Ember shot.

Now is Ember Shot more useless than Scorching Spear? Yeah I'd have to agree with you. But I made this deck to have the appearance of a typical deck with cards that are not too over costed. Anyone can throw a bunch of cards that are way over costed. Hell I could of made the deck totally useless just by putting in land of all the wrong mana color. But the joke of this deck is you could play most ever card in this deck and you still would be hardly any threat to your opponent the cards are that bad. I'm particularly proud that Great Wall cancels out Aysen Highway a more useless waste of mana I would be hard to put to find.

Anyway Umoonpuca, I agree Ember shot is really, really bad but if you think about it Thermal Blast is even worst.

Thanks for the input.

Some comments on some of the above, culled from Gatherer: Ignoble Soldier: "Accorder Paladin took one look, & began to weep openly." Viashino Skeleton: "Aven Trooper, we brought home a little brother." Goes well in my tribal shit heap deck." "Strictly better than shooting yourself in the foot." Scorching Spear: "Only 2 of these to kill a Storm Crow? 5/5." Break Open: "You can put it on an Isochron Scepter, then turn ALL of your opponent's cards face up!" "This card is good when my opponent plays his turn 3 2/2 morph creature, & you really, really want to see if it's R Akroma." Aysen Highway: "Because this would have completely broken the metagame @ 2+3W." Great Wall: "This is going in my 60 card Battle of Wits deck." Happy Monday, all. :D
