Found a kokusho-deck online, didnt like it. Tweaked it to fit my reanimation-wishes.
The beck is pretty selfexplaining. You want to either get kokusho to the graveyard and then get him up on the field. Or have him spend his glorious moments on the deck only to be a: killedb: Selfdestruct because of copy (Getting two kokushos on the deck causes both do die)c: sacrificed

You should add in some more creatures, since you are basically doing a reanimator deck. I have one you can check out its call Dr. Herbert West. Recurring nightmare and victimize are really good. I shall add those to my reanimator deck. In this type of deck you can get really creative with nasty creatures. In mine I don't even use black creatures since they get put into play from the graveyard.

Cool! I'll check it out for sure! I love Victimize. It wasnt in the original build, so they're one of my additons! Personally, I dont feel it would've been the same if I were to mix in different colors. And I do have 14 creatures. I feel that its more than enough. I got plenty of Creatures in the sideboard. And I also get my creatures back, so adding more creatures would feel weird!
I agree with malignantmatt, adding a few more creatures to reanimate might help some. Don't forget to include non black creatures for their effects, like Elesh Norn, Iona, etc.Kokusho is frigging awesome. Back when the legend rule killed all copies in play, I kicked out Bogardan Hellkite for Kokusho in my Dragonstorm deck... Good times :)Now, Kokusho sits in my Heartless Summoning deck and his death trigger combos nicely with other cards I have in the deck, namely Phyrexian MeMetamorph; Sheoldred (keep returning and sacrificing Phyrexian Metamorph); and Mutilate. I'm currently tinkering with a GB Spirit based idea to get all 4 Kokusho into the graveyard to come back off Living End. The idea is to sacrifice spirits to Lifespinner's ability to fetch Iname, Death Aspect; then use InIname's ETB effect to put all 4 Kokusho into the graveyard, only for all 4 to be reanimated by Living End. (I'm trying to make it Modern legal).
Cool! I originally scrapped the deck, but came back to it now because i felt it could still do some fun around the board. Phyrexian seems like a card Im definitely going to add. Atleast as a sideboard. Gotta ask though. Why Elesh norn and Iona (Other than their effects ofc)? And could you name some other cards? Since you said etc, you had a certaint effect in mind. Also. When you say "adding a few more creatures to reanimate" You mean as sacrificial pawns, or creature-cards that allows me to reanimate? Also, I like the spirit deck idea. Sounds pretty fun, but punishing if you fail.. Gave you a follow. Wanna see how it ends up! :D
I specifically meant reanimating cards with awesome abilities, like Iona and Elesh Norn are for their effects. Others I was thinking of include Grave Titan (a personal favourite) and Sheoldred, Whispering One (reanimates a creature for free once a turn). Kokusho is a cool reanimate target, but having it as your only target isn't, imo, a good idea. Glad you like it. I'll need to work on it a bit more irl before posting it here so I can give a detailed 'how to'.
Lets take Elesh and Iona as example then. Should I stick with the mono-black deck, or should I incorperate white mana aswell? From the original message, you gave off the impression that these two cards were to be drawn in through reanimation solely. Is this correct?
Stick to mono black. Because you'll be Entombing them to Exhume / Living Death them back into play, you won't need any other colours.
You can only run 1 Necro.
Yea. Playing two would be a waste of resources. I've taken two because in this case im certain to more or less always have one for play. If I only had one It might end up at the bottom of my deck or never to be drawn during a play. I am a noob when it comes to MTG, so this might be bad thinking..
He means it's banned in tournament play, but restricted to 1 in a deck in Vintage.
DedWards is correct, there is only 1 format the card is even legal in which is Vintage and it's restricted. Here's a link to the wizards banned/restricted list for all formats.http://magic.wizards.com/en/gameinfo/gameplay/formats/bannedrestricted
