Deck discussion for Thrumming Along:Revised

you know, i'm taking the ruby medallion out. the cloud keys are better anyway cause they'll cover red and green cost, not just red. and that'll allow me to add back in another evolving wilds to bring it up to 4 again. i think it's better that way.

Replace the two rite of flame with dragon tyrant? Because at that point there is no need to keep paying hibernations end's upkeep cost, and paying 4 or 8 red mana to have 1 or 2 6/6 flying trample doublestrike guys for 1 attack? You really don't need more than that.

wait just to double check, how does cumulative upkeep work exactly? are you paying just 1 mana every turn, or 1 more mana every turn? so 2 mana on turn 2, 3 on turn 3 and etc?

Or scourge of kher ridges! I totaly forgot about that one! Oh my god i need to get my hands on a few of those! ...

You pay mana according to the amount of age counters on it, if you gan't, sacrifice it.

I thought you knew this? Isn't that why we were working so hard to not let go of the high mana ramp?

yeah i thought it worked that way i was just double checking....scourge of kher is an awesome dragon. if you really wanted to go super fast with this deck though, you should just do four steel hellkites, 4 rimescale dragons and 4 moltensteel dragons. because then you can be drawing hellkites for either free or nearly free, even without the hibernation's end, and you could play the moltensteels for just some life. super fast dragon drops. and the rimescale stays so you can tap out all the blockers. but i like having more than just 3 dragon types haha

hey man have you seen this "astral cornucopia" card yet? looks like an AMAZING mana ramp card. think it'd be better than the shrine to nyx? i could drop the shrine and reforge the soul to fit 2 of them in.

With doubling season, that card would be amazing! But drop reforge the soul and 1 hibernation, keep the shrine.

oh man i didn't even think about doubling seasons...that's right, it'd double the amount of charge counters on it. WOW. alright i made some more tweaks, let me know what you think. the last card is left for astral cornucopia, because it's not in the database yet to add. i'd like to include two of them though, but i'm not sure what else to take out. like the spheres for more card draw though?

added in 2 gruul guildgates too, because i was getting too many starting draws where i had a boreal druid and no green mana to cast it. can't have that, slows it down too much. the guildgate seems to have helped. with the astral cornucopias i don't think rite of flame matters much anymore. there's enough ramp as is.

wait...wtf...i just read this on the magic website: "If you choose 1 for the value of X, Astral Cornucopia will cost 3 Mana to cast and enter the battlefield with one charge counter. If you choose 2 for the value of X, it will cost 6 Mana to cast and enter the battlefield with two charge counters, and so on.
The last ability is a mana ability. It doesn't use the stack and can't be responded to." i...i don't understand why it would work like that. that makes it practically useless. ugh

The astral cornucopia is a long term investment, that really pays of if you use doubling season, but as of now the ramp looks really good, swap out 1 sphere for another nyx, and you can ripple or hibernate in every single one of your dragons with no problem.

i just don't get why it's 3 X's if all 3 X values don't count. should be if you pay 3 to cast it, it puts 3 charge counters on it. it'd be crazy good if it worked like that. anyway, made the adjustment. seems pretty perfect to me, at least on paper. some of these starting sample hands are crazy. couple times i would have been able to drop a moltensteel dragon on turn 2, assuming i paid the life cost for the red/life cost. nasty stuff.

think i should replace howling mine with rites of flourishing for more ramp? it's one more mana to cast and you need a green, and it benefits your opponents pretty heavily too, but the pro is you get the card draw PLUS the mana ramp. would love to work in a helm of awakening, too. probably drop a scrying sheets for it. but again..not sure i want to help out the other player too much, hah.

As steady as this is i don't think rites would help you enough to make up the difference, but i think you should try it like this, time for playtesting, don't you think?
