no card advantage?? not even PW's??
It can be played Multiplayer aand I guess that is what the creators intended, in my playgroup we use french banlist in addition to the normal commander bans to play mini 1v1 leagues between us.
Nicee!! Please link me when you are done!! I have Sorin, Lord of Innistrad, Vraska the Unseen and Venser the Sojourner as a work in progress right now :D You might want to check the other ones I have, Ajani, Mentor of Heroes, Ajani vengeant and Ral Zarek.
Im waiting to Add the new M15 cards, the Urn will replace the spears and halls, and both equipments will be Ajani's. Also.. Im thinking of dropping something for raise the alarm.
If the Hydra is one of your finishers... Why a hydra without any kind of reach? You need it to either it fly or trample some way. Maybe Nylea as it is in color?
thing is you most of the time need only 1 creature, its hexproof auras, and with the unblockable threat the clock runs FAST! Also remember Ghor Clan and Selesnya charm can double as a body to put auras in.
Athreos has not come out yet, thats why is currently illegal, next week it will be modern legal. Ill check it out.
Just an Idea, but your fastest drop (3cmc) is Ajani Caller of the pride, who is kinda useless without any creatures, then at 4 cmc Sarkhan is useless again without creatures (hope you draw Elspeth). The fastest you can drop Doubling Season is Turn 4, that means the fastest Planeswalker come down at 5, a single counter can manage to put you so much behind. Here's something I built a while ago. But works nicely. Hope you like it.http://www.mtgvault.com/phrozen/decks/nayan-ramping-walkers/Also, the new Ajani, Mentor of Heroes would be an amazing card in this kind of decks.
Also Mage Slayer, works wonders with this kind of decks, and manlands with Trace of Abundance are great Rancor targets (Raging Ravine after a wipe).
Bloom Tender? Drumhunter? this are cards I run usually on Naya decks, Oblivion Ring is a good card also. I know there is no kill like overkill, but if you nend 1 big fat creature to win, taking that many is counter productive. also, Spearbreaker Behemoth is amazing, but Vexing Shusher fits the curve pretty nicely and can make your Mayael's Arie/Rancor etc.. uncountereable.
cause you can untap dryad arbor, block, and tap it again for podding ;D
Im not too fond of 2 drops instead of supposed 1 drops, Shocklands are not that expensive I see you have some, maybe Arbor Elf?? He can untap Dryad Arbor too for emergency blocking!! :D
Yeah and usually you can pod a Finks twice into an Ooze AND Jarad, devoted can kill herself anytime, you just need the quillspike in the graveyard. Jarad's ability does not cause him to tap so as soon as you pod both, at the end of turn, you can just combo right there.
I like it, although my idea of Melira Pod is a litttle bit different for modern cause it is a deceptive deck. It is kinda hard to go into Melira unanswered, so it should be the last thing you want to put on board if you think you can combo out, usually by podding a mana dork. I'd say lower the Melira count and main a set of Finks. My preliminary list looks kind like this...http://www.mtgvault.com/phrozen/decks/post-drs-melira-pod/The Noble Hierarchs went nuts up to 60dlls, and I dont have all the lands nor the Chord of Calling. That is why I'm oozing right now :DI like the different approach you took on the Melira Pod, I do run Archangel of Thune + Spike Feeder combo instead, but you can actually go with Finks and Archangel with the seer.
Wow, thanks for the comment, I'm actually going to build a Melira Pod too, but Hierarchs went nuts with the DRS ban, and Chord of Calling, fecth lands, etc... are expensive, so this is my "in the meantime" deck. That cleared up, Morselhoarder seems perfect as a 6 mana step, maybe not removing Grim Popet but run a copy of each. I dunno about Duskmantle Guildmage but Orzhov Guildmage sure seems like a good fit as I can hard cast it as a blocker into pod (easier to get 2 black mana if no birds are on play). It still has the one of the win conditions.I agree with abrupt decay and I might run 4 of them, I just find Lead the Stampede amazing when you need to feed the troll, or need more things on board for direct pod into ooze route, or Fauna them to get the oozes.Duress/Inquisition/Thoughtseize are pretty good, but I think is better to run them on sideboard, usually vs Jund, they help you put some things on the graveyard, specially with Liliana. One win condition i have found at least vs Jund, is you might not be able to combo, but Thornling alone can beat the crap out of Goyf, and there is little they can do about it. aggro is still nice with Thornling in play. I'll check your decks for ideas and test the hoarder out :) one last thing, What are your thoughts on Jarad as a Quillspike into "Rite of Consuption" win condition? its easy to drop on 4 (or fauna pod into it) and your quillspike/ooze dont need to connect.
Fetch Lands are played in zoo to activate Steppe Lynx Landfall twice in a single turn, AND they are stapples in every other Modern deck cause they thin out your deck of lands making your draws better.
Landfall works because if you draw a fecth land... your lynx is a 4/5 for 1 mana and that is as good as in gets into mana efficiency. Thats the way Zoo can kill in 3rd 4rd turn.
I like it a lot! Ill have to test it :D
Yeah, Nameless inversion is actually to win trades with Doran on the table. I do like Leaf-Crowned Elder, I'm still figuring out about my 4CMC drop, I guess I'll need at least 2 of them to help with aggro and sideboard Thrun. Ty! :D
