The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...
Start typing a card name and use the auto-complete feature to quickly select the card you're trying to add. Enter a quantity and add that card to your sideboard!
Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Zubera's kick ass! A friend of mine uses a killer Zubera deck. He sacs them with Goblin Bombardment :D
Permalink
Bombardement is not bad but I prefer the altar for more mana diversity.
I've been using shirei and lifespinner for them. :P
Is also a possibility but shirei is then first target and dies too fast.
cool deck never heard of zubreas before
Pretty neat bro, good job! :)
Thank you :)
I like this deck! I want to play it, but we only play modern here...If it had infernal plunge, instead of the alterandalters reap instead of return to the ranks... would it be playable?
The deck you suggest is awesome, but sadly, it fails to be modern legal. You need to replace Second Sunrise (Athreos, God of Passage) and Phyrexian Altar (Chromatic Lantern). To make up for the loss of sac outlets when you replace the altar, I would run another Devouring Greed and maybe stick some altar's reaps in there for good measure. As a side note ... you should definitely work on the mana base. As it stands, there are only 4 cards in the deck that deal with mana-screwing issues. Investing in Evolving Wilds or Dual Lands would be a wise choice here.
In my opinion, infernal plunge would not work because the red mana you can not really use except you play a converter to get the important white mana for the reviver spells.I don't understand the second part there is no return to the ranks in my deck and Alters reap is to limited for mass sacrifice but you can use it for good card draw.
Nice deck +1 from me. Have you considered Dawn Charm instead of holy day? It costs 1 more but may find it a bit more versatile the first time it saves you from getting thoughtsiezed or anything along the same lines.
Dawn Charm would be freaking awesome.
would be to consider
I say ... a chromatic lantern or something like shimmering grotto would be highly useful here. You know, I think 2 or 3 shimmering grotto would be awesome.
I don't agree with that since the idea is to sac to the alter and produce what you need.
Of course. That's a valid and good strategy. Sorry if I was not very clear. The problem isn't in the ability of the cards in question, but the amount of them. Anything that hinges on solely 4 cards to solve any issues with mana you experience, with no deck search, is bound to be highly frustrating. I suggest that further mana-fixing be added, like adamantian suggests below. To further clarify, I meant that Chromatic Lantern would be a good modern substituion for Phyrexian Altar, along the lines of exchanging Second Sunrise for Athreos, God of Passage. Both of these I suggested in my previous post.
You make a very valid point. I agree as well the deck would be more consistent if the mana base was changed up. Some shocks if the legacy duals aren't an option and maybe mana confluence or its twin brass city
Hmm ... perhaps I could lend you my collection of 10 revised- era dual lands. That might do the trick. :)Thank you for being so civil in your conversations.Oh ... and it's bothering me, but I swear there is a modern - compatible version of Phyrexian Altar.
Aether Vial would fit perfect.
Prismatic Omen may be what your thinking of, used in many scapeshift decks. I'm unaware of anything else which does the same as Phyrexian Alter
It doesn't say budget anywhere, do I'm just gonna put this out here. Switch your mana base to two of each legacy dual land and add in two basics of your choice. Sorry if this offends you or anything.
Replace the manabase with:4 City of Brass4 Gemstone Mine4 Mana Confluence2 Forbidden Orchard4 Reflecting pool
How would blasting station do in here
Okay- it really only combos with Second sunrise. I would put it 2 at most.
I second the City of Brass.Mana base needs work. Mana Confluence works much the same.
No not only Second sunrise, you can triger the combo with Immortal Servitude or Pyrric Revival or with Couldron Haze if you cast it before sacrifice.
I think my favorite part of this deck is the use of Immortal Servitude. Very smart. Throughout the game you'll be dropping a few Zubera here and there, and killing them off, but you'll rarely get the explosive mass death of zubera that is oh so much fun to see. That is, until you drop five mana into Servitude and bring back an army that carries a second threat of going nuclear. On the subject of having a bunch of two-drops, I suggest tryin out Aether Vial. It'll get you a few more Zubera drops in the long run. Also, despite having Floating Dream, which can draw you a ton of cards, I think some extra card draw might not be a bad idea. Oh, and I love Devouring Greed. Amazing finisher for most spirit decks that can run it.
Aether vial also fixes the mana issues, which is why I suggested it above.
I would recommend Cauldron Haze instead of Second Sunrise, and either Death Pit Offering or Damnation instead of Phyrexian Altars. 2 Death Pit Offerings and 3 Devouring Greeds would give you a great end game. The only problem I see is getting Zuberas out quick enough, which is why I assume you chose Phyrexian Altar. If you have no problem remaining a casual deck, I would play the 4 Altars with 3 Devouring Greeds and 4 Cauldron Haze. Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker and Blood Artist are also hella cute in this deck.
I may be wrong in thinking this, your choice, but if you dropped one color it would be much more consistent
Mana issues...basic lands...seems to be the number one complaint.Aether Vial was suggested.City of Brass was suggested. Etc. I am sure he is thinking that the Altar provides mana of any color, which he is technically right. However, it does seem to need some work with the mana base. Running 1 color less would also help out.
I love this deck!! I might build it, it looks so fun! :)

I can imagine how your opponent must feel when they realize attacking and killing some Zubera may be worse than just passing the turn!

This is a deck you can buy prebuild? O-o

really nice deck dude the synergy is insane lol check out my turbo depts/discard deck when you get the chance
This is legitimately the first time I've ever seen the Zubera creature type in a useful deck. Literally every other deck I've ever seen them in is just terrible or didn't work how the user wanted it to.
I'd run ashnod's altar instead of phyrexian altar
Besides the mana base, I really like the concept... ...perhaps you could use Gravecrawler & also the upcoming Abzan Ascendion would be an awesome addition here, cuz you can even sacrifice the Spirit creaturesn you get with it to Devouring Greed wich I'd use 3 from in the main deck after Ascendion has been utilized...Also, a good sideboard won't hurt & I'm willing to help with it later if you're up for it...I'm also not sure if you really need Holy Day, but I haven't tasted your deck, so I couldn't know 4 sure...Would you mind to check one of my Modern decks I've made reacently?.. ...would like to hear your opinion on it... : http://www.mtgvault.com/poetmasterx/decks/red-moon-sage-control/
interesting nice. some dual lands may be
If your not adding the expensive dual color lands, adding a few of the tri-color lands from Khans would help alot as well.
Petalmane Baku could help the mana fixing as well.
brutal deck, congratulations
cool deck! I would add Heartless Summoning, so you can cast a new zubera each time you sacrifice one to Phyrexian Altar, and when you cast Phirric Revival you are just nuking the opponent for good
