Deck Description

This is NOT my deck list. Just sharing a deck list found on Daily MTG today Stefano's Mono Black control and I always thought of trying mono black control in standard. I didn't think it was possible so I never bothered trying but I found his deck list interesting.

How to Play

Black control it does what the name says. Deals with early threats through devour flesh and ultimate price. Along with ravenous rats to give you a chump early on that may trade with the occasional 2/1. Crippling blight can make an opposing Thragtusk say oh no I can't block. While sign in blood might give you that card you need to wipe the board or that Grislebrand to turn the tide of the game. Also if you play army of the damned you've essentially won.

Deck discussion for Mono Black Control

I think crypt ghast is what will make it work. The slow down from the rats should also do work.

This deck has no underworld connections. Why run monoblack without that card it's the closes you get to phyrexian arena.

If you read the description you would understand this is NOT my deck list. Just sharing it, you're entitled to you're opinion and I agree I would run three copies of underworld connections in place of the sign in bloods. But that's just me.

Also would have Contaminated Ground. Slowing down multicolored decks is a must and that card will do it for sure.
