Loxodon hammer makes behemeth sledge obsolete. Also I'm not sure if this matters to you but wild nacatl is banned in modern. Also you could speed up the deck quite a bit if you dropped the refuges for lands that can come out untapped. (Rootbound Crag, Dragonskull Summit, the fast lands, shock lands...)

I have always loved the untap land cards. Snap is still one of my favorite cards. Honestly the only way I can see to improve this deck would be to ditch the deserted temples. I don't really see how they help the deck out. All of your spells already untap your lands so I don't know if you'll ever really need to use its ability. Of course I may be wrong, I'm not the one playing the deck so I can only guess by looking at it. I really enjoy the concept though

you can only use colors that are in your general's mana cost in edh. You can't use black with thelon

My issue with cryptic gateway in this deck is that it is the highest mana cost spell in the deck. By the time you get it out most of the rats in your hand will be on the field and you'll be able to hard cast anything you top deck. Pestilence rats and plauge rats are essentially less efffective than just relentless rats in a deck with only relentless rats. I would highly suggest making this deck solid relentless rats and add in four thrumming stones over the cryptic gateways. Thrumming stone breaks the relentless rat. Take a look at my relentless rat deck if you would like to see one. It consistently wins on turn 5 and is one of the most despised decks to play against in my friend group. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=205507

Ditch the shocks. You're not making this in standard format so you have no reason not to swap them out for lightning bolt. Whenever I would run with the chancellor it would just work way too slow for me so I would recommend dropping that. Also if you are sure you want to run goblin offensive you should consider ditching it for rise of the hobgoblins. You can get out more goblins with it plus you can give all of your goblins first strike whenever you want. Also drop the raging goblins and throw in goblin guide. It's one of the best one drop reds in the game. It's reveal often helps you more than it speeds up the opponent because you see what they are getting next.

I have to say though, this is a slow goblin deck. The first goblin deck I made ran very similar to this and it was just far too sluggish to be effective. I ultimately revamped it and made it far faster. It is now one of my most effective decks. It is one of the most despised decks in my friend group. Take a look at it if you would like. http://www.mtgvault.com/EditDeck.aspx?DeckID=340640&DeckCardID=8881031

The birds function as the black source. Besides theres nothing any better with midnight haunting than a lingering souls you can't flashback

If youre going to run that many captain of the watchs you should max out preeminent captain to cheat them out more reliably. Possibly raise the alarm?

That may be true. I want to be able to get a land out at least up till turn 4 and mountains are needed for koth to be really effective so I'll just bring it down to 22. I don't like any of the red curses enough to put them in the deck. The planeswalkers will do the damage I need.

No no no. It is all about the planeswalkers. Tibalt and faithless looting discard any I don't want or need.

I love the idea of just swinging with tormented soul with all of the other exalted creatures just sitting back to defend. Exalted is going to be fun in standard

Honestly I just like the one mana aspect of forked bolt too much to give it up for the two mana version of the card.

AEther Vial worries me with this deck. I feel like it will slow down the deck in the first couple of turns (plus the extra cash commitment.) I don't know. Its a possibility but I feel that I would need to rework the deck.

Tutuk scrapper is a no go for me simply because I hate putting cards in decks that can't be used to their full potential and since it has a relatively high cost for the deck it would have to be cheated out. I feel that mirror breaker, siege-gang and ringleaders work far better as the high end of the deck's mana curve.

Goblin Chieftain is also more useful to me than Goblin Warchief. They both give goblins haste but chieftain also gives them all a boost. Warchief makes the goblins 1 colorless mana cheaper but that doesn't help for any of the goblin spells that have no colorless mana in the cost.

Stingscourger would work if it wasn't for the echo cost.

Tarfire, on the otherhand, is perfect. Great idea man. Thanks =)

So I've decided to put silence and path to exile in the sideboard for use against creature decks as creature removal and as delay for them to bring out more blockers. I'll put in 4 figure of destinys because they are a for sure 1st turn creature I can bring out and has boost potential. I figure I'll put in 4 more burn spells. I'm thinking either burst lightning, as it is essentially an upgraded version of shock, or forked bolt which has the potential to get two blockers out of my way. Of course the issue with forked bolt is that it is at sorcery speed but I figure that won't be too much of a problem since I do most of my stuff during my turn anyway.

See I love silence simply because it is a one drop that essentially gives me one more turn where they have the same amount of possible blockers out. And Path to Exile is simply possible blocker removal. I love the idea of figure of destiny but im uncertain about removing either of the two white instants

I'm confused. If you use wild pair to bring in a pair of thundermares/timbermares wouldn't they just tap each other out?
