How is your second Myr Retriever free? Do you have to have Urza's Incubator out as well?

you need Urza's Incubator - choose Myr and it will be always free

Guildgates aren't terrible. They're just cheap. Ok, so they only enter tapped, but they are still a dual land. I can also buy about 50 of them for the price of a shockland. Besides, most of the people that I've talked to on this site are casual players. I play guildgates because I don't have the money to go out and buy guildgates for all of my decks!

Besides, they are the basis of Maze's End decks

Indeed. I am getting tired of people on this site with their butt hurt attitude towards casual players lol. Not everyone has 2000$ to spend on cards.

But this is only a website though. You don't have to pay for the cards on here, if someone wants to build this and they do have a lot of money to use they will want the best possible deck which would be using shocks, cracks and taps

If someone doesn't have a lot of money and wants to build a deck they have on this website, they will use guild gates. Goes both ways sir.

Ah but you can have something to aim for or trade for. If you put a deck up you want to build on here it will be for improvements and the first thing to improve a deck is: improve the mana base. I understand that guildgates are an awesome cheap alternative and I do use them, I just wanted to throw my view in of building decks on here! And it is lord btw ;)

or you can use this website to keep track of your actual decklists like most people do. The fact is, nothing anyone puts in a deck should make anyone else care... just the trolls, man.

In contrary to your conversation though, I design with shocklands and what-not to make it the best it can be, but yeah, Shocklands are a thing to trade for and I do use guildgates where I don't have Shocklands

Heartless Summoning has proven to be better with Retrievers in my experience. Right now your deck NEEDS a sac outlet to operate, granted, you chose a good one, as its also your primary win condition, but if you use Heartless Summoning, all you need is a wincon. like Falkenrath noble, or grapeshot, since your myr are free, and die immediately. HS is also a 2 drop, making the ideal hand a turn 3 win.

Why it would be better? I think Retriever would die with HF, because his toughness = 0/0. And for deal damage i need sacrifice it.
With grapeshot ive got another build: Ashnod's Altar + 2 Myr Retriever + Grape Shot

retrieved does die. thats the point. you cycle two of them through the graveyard enough times for a lethal storm count, then grapeshot. or if you have falkenrath noble out, each time a creature dies, it deals one damage, and you gain one life. both things I already mentioned...

yes, im slowpoke) but...w8 a minute, with other combo i need more cards, and other mana colors...

the point is that you have more options right now your combo sucks you need 2 of a kind, the odds for that are really bad. then you need urzas incubator but you have no artifact tutoring and you need the enchantment which you have technically 6 times in the deck considering the tutor. and thats basically your only wincon in the deck...

Don't attempt to speak my point for me. If you would like to add hateful words, do it in your own post and don't twist my words into your ignorance.

Othagiri, you can also add Infernal Tutor to the deck to get your second retriever if you add black. I have a deck list on here called Heartless Storm. I'm not sure it's public, and I'm in class right now, so I can make it public later if its not, but it's built on the retriever/Hs/ grapeshot interaction. You might be able to glean some ideas from it

can't really see any hateful words in there. but if you insist. I was merely pointing out that while in theory the combo looks great it will probably only work in 1/10 games.

Aiel: "your combo sucks"
That's pretty unfriendly.

Combo looks fun, but in my experience combos like this are hard to get into place unless you have more tutors. I recommend taking a look at NinjaStyle612's list, as he mentioned (I assume you're male, feel free to correct me).
My suggestion would be to run way more artifact tutoring. Perhaps Reshape+Twincast effects to nab all of your pieces in one go. Would take longer, of course, but it may be harder to disrupt if they don't see it coming.

Seems easier to just do this sort of thing with melira, safehold elite (or any persister), then bombardment or one of the many other infinite sac outlets.

You wait 5 turns to do infinite damage, but chuck in some birds of paradise and sol rings, and then turn 2/3, ur laying saccer + persister/melira, and T3/4 going infinite....

I have yet to see a deck which makes legitimate use of lich's mirror...

I've done a similar combo in Modern:
Heartless Summoning + Falkenrath Noble + 2 Myr Retriever

Grapeshot is more consistent than noble. I ran this type of deck at a modern PTQ and went top-8

5 card combo = bad. it is so unlikely that you draw the right cards against most decks.

You say "Turn one win", but I just can't see how it is turn one without something like Dark Ritual. Also, having a combination of this many cards is hard to play consistently. The best infinite combos are always 2 cards: Sanguine Bond and Exquisite Blood, Duskmantle Guildmage and Mindcrank, etc. But there are also some good ones with 3 cards: Zhur-Taa Druid + Elite Arcanist and Triton Tactics
So while yeah your combo is great, I don't really see this deck working consistently. Try some play-testing and see if there is a way to make it more consistent

Not 'turn one', 'one turn'. There's a big difference.

I've played my "Heartless Summoning + Falkenrath Noble + 2 Myr Retriever" combo a few times and although it's slower to assemble than 2 or 3 card combos, the deck was designed to function with only parts of the combo. You only really need 1 Retriever in hand an 1 in the grave when you assemble the other 2 cards of the combo.

That said, either putting in a lot of draw / search to get the combo pieces or designing the deck to fnction with even only part of the cards is a common design choice for most combo decks and should not be forgotton.

Sanguine Bond and Exquisite blood or Zhur Taa druid/Elite Arcanist/ Triton Tactics arent even close to the best infinite combos...

Oh, ok. I misread the title. But yeah, some search could work out nicely to help speed the deck up
