Deck Description

Generate big token creatures quickly and crush your enemies underfoot

How to Play

Using Gyre Sage and Sylvan Caryatid to speed your mana curve, start dropping 3/3 Centaurs, 5/5 Trample Wurms and 8/8 Vigilant Elementals faster than your opponent is able to handle. Wayfaring Temple and Wake the Reflections allow for cheap/free replications of those tokens while Rootborn Defenses protects those tokens. Fleecemane Lion and Loxodon Smiter round out the deck by providing medium sized creatures on the cheap, which also help with evolving the Gyre Sage.

Deck discussion for Wurmsplosion

I totally dig the deck-idea, but as it stands it is prone to mass-removal. One well timed Anger of the Gods or Supreme Verdict and you will find yourself running out of gas pretty fast.

Either protect your creatures with "Rootborn Defenses" and / or get yourself some carddraw. "Courser of Kruphix" is a very strong card, that gives pseudo-carddraw and helps hitting those much needed landdrops. Then there are "Hunter's Prowess" and "Warriors' Lesson". They could get you 2-for-1ed if you don't play it right, but most of the time they should hit the target.

Have fun optimizing!

It's funny that you should mention those cards, since my last few revisions before making the deck public involved 3 of the 4 cards you mentioned! Rootborn Defenses was in there until I made the decision to go with Druid's Deliverance instead, but you do raise a very good point... as for the Courser of Kruphix, I figured I had enough mana acceleration with the Sylvan Caryatid and Gyre Sage so I let it be, but I wasn't overly happy with it.

I like Hunter's Prowess but it's a bit costly for my taste; Warriors' Lesson on the other hand could be quite useful to give a sudden bump of speed.

I think I'll probably swap Rootborn Defenses for Druid's Deliverance but I'm not sure what to lose in order to add the Courser of Kruphix and maybe Warriors' Lesson... any ideas?

Oh, and thank you for your input!

If i were to cut something, i would probably cut the playset of "Wake the Reflections" first. I don't like it being sorcery-speed.Also, It isn't a real 1-drop either and doens't work on an empty board.

"Experiment One" would be a good fit for a 1-drop btw, if you feel like you need one... :D

Second cut would be somewhere around the 2-drop area. Your curve peaks out extremely at 2, although it should curve out somewhere at 4, because of the ramp.

If you hit every land-drop:
turn one: scry.land or experiment one
turn two: caryatid
turn three: 4 drop

I'd go -2 "Fleecemane Lion", -2 "Gyre Sage" , because she doesn't ramp immediatly.

Maybe consider "Polukranos" at least for the sideboard. He really shines against aggro and is a strong 4-drop.

I'm loathe to drop Wake the Reflections since that was kind of the starting point for this deck. It's annoying to have it with no tokens out but this deck has plenty of ways to make tokens... and getting a 5/5 Wurm for 1 mana is pretty awesome. Nonetheless, I think I could do with dropping 1 of them. I also dropped 1 Fleecemane Lion and all 4 of the Gyre Sages (I don't like their initial uselessness) in exchange for 4 Experiment One and 2 Courser of Kruphix.

I played out a few sample hands and the results definitely seem more reliable. I gotta say, I vastly underestimated Experiment One, that thing is a great 1 drop.
