I was interested in making a monowhite deck as that has been a hot topic lately in the commander community. Everybody likes an underdog story, and Kirin doesn't seem to be played too often but seems to provide a relatively consistent control strategy.
Kirin equates to a semi-board wipe in the command zone, which provides a controlling factor for white to keep speed with the other decks. Keeping Kirin on the board is pretty essential, so there are a few ways to protect it through indestructible, protection, and exiling it until the end of the turn. Aside from spirits creatures that span most CMCs, there is a life gain theme to bolster against potential targeting and provide life gain/card draw engines. I thought about including stax/land destruction pieces (Ugin's Conjurant excluded), but that is generally not accepted, so I went with a less implemented strategy in white counterspells. Two potential finishers come in the form of "Charge Across the Araba" and "True Conviction," otherwise, grinding the game out is the primary way to keep an advantage. Some additional cards like "Land Tax," "Sensei's Divining Top," and "Avacyn, Angel of Hope" may be more expensive considerations, and I'm not so familiar with utility land options, so I'm sure there are better options than what I provided.
