Deck Funeral

by OldFool on 15 January 2013

Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (13 cards)

Sorceries (4)

Instants (6)

Artifacts (3)

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

Make opponent's library go away. Win. Hate to admit this but ran into Mind Sculpt and Thought Scour playing the 2013 Duels of the Planeswalkers on XBOX and liked the cards. Had other stuff. Built deck.

How to Play

Smoke 'em while you got 'em. Shouldn't be too hard to get 20 cards in opponent's graveyard to use Visions to full effect. Maintain control with Keg, Wash Out, and Roil.

There is some good anti-mill stuff out there. Suggestions on how to get around potential problems appreciated (main deck or sideboard).

Deck discussion for Deck Funeral

Legacy is filled with turbo decks that will smack you over the head with 30+ damage by turn 4 and control decks that will dictate what you are allowed to play. Not sure that is the format you want to pull this off in...

...none-the-less this 'is' the format I am trying to pull this off in. Any suggestions on things I might sideboard or substitute to help deal with the deck types you have mentioned?

yeah, your not gonna be able to pull this off in legacy
but
i can see this being one mean casual deck.

im not really into brainfreeze here, i can only see you being able to build up a small storm count here, and even though you could prolly hit em for 9 often, i feel like that slot could be utilized better.

maybe run a few more jace beleran, and just use him to keep drawing an extra card everyturn. a deck like this can run out of steam pretty quickly but visions and jace should certainly keep you going.

as far as getting around anti mill cards.. any spell that causes them to shuffle there yard into their library will pretty much ruin you and the only way to stop those are with counterspells.

as far as things like emrakul and progenitus.
relic of progenitus, surgical extraction, nihil spellbomb are all examples that can take care of creatures with shuffle effects.

Looks realy funny, i'd love to see the faces of your opponents. I'm only worryed about the fact that people can get creatures on their field. And especialy forest, light or selesnya players may kill you before you mill them.

Thanks to all for the comments and suggestions thus far. I suppose I should tag all my decks as casual as well as legacy so nobody thinks I'm trying to win tournaments here. I just build all my decks to legacy standards as I own many cards and don't like to restrict myself too much on the sets I'm pulling from when putting a deck together. Still, I like to play decks that will do well in a casual match so suggestions for improvements are very welcome.

A few minor changes and partial sideboard added. Pulled (1) Powder Keg), (1) Into the Roil and (3) Careful Study. Added (1) Jace Beleren (2) Infest and (2) Preordain.
