I would try dropping the Dark Rituals, Venser's Journals, and Cranial Extractions. I would replace them with (1) Murder, (4) Hymn to Tourach and (4) Suffer the Past. The Rituals don't seem to help too much here and Venser's and Extractions don't seem to complement the rest of the deck well. Hymn is quite disruptive early in the game and provides more cards to target with Suffer later on. Suffer should work well later in the game with the mana generation potential of Coffers. Your creature destruction looks good for helping to fill your opponent's graveyard as well. I really like the Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond - not sure exactly how they work together but looks like an infinite life gain/loss combo. Sign in Blood is nice here as well - you get two cards with life you should be able to recover fairly easily or use it on your opponent to finish, especially when paired with Dreams. Hope this gives you some ideas to share with your friends...

Some earlier mana and deck thinning would look good here. I would toss (1) Thallid, (1) Swamp and (2) Gogari Rot Farm. This leaves space for adding in six cards (as your current deck count is only 58 cards). I would add in (1) Llanowar Elves, (3) Cultivate, and (2) Overrun. Cultivate helps weed out land draws later and gets you your swamps. Overrun is a nice finisher for this type of deck. Hope this helps. Have fun!

A few minor changes and partial sideboard added. Pulled (1) Powder Keg), (1) Into the Roil and (3) Careful Study. Added (1) Jace Beleren (2) Infest and (2) Preordain.

Thanks to all for the comments and suggestions thus far. I suppose I should tag all my decks as casual as well as legacy so nobody thinks I'm trying to win tournaments here. I just build all my decks to legacy standards as I own many cards and don't like to restrict myself too much on the sets I'm pulling from when putting a deck together. Still, I like to play decks that will do well in a casual match so suggestions for improvements are very welcome.

...none-the-less this 'is' the format I am trying to pull this off in. Any suggestions on things I might sideboard or substitute to help deal with the deck types you have mentioned?
