If this were my deck I would take out the Blights, which seem kind of out of place in this deck, and put in 4x Dark Rituals to be able to drop something on turn 1.

the point of it is to make them worry abvout there lands so much they cant counter your monsters

0

I know, but a lot decks don't need more than 1 land to start to set up so they will start attacking you before you even get a chance to play any of your two-drop spells. Just a suggestion. You have plenty of other land enchantments in your deck to make your opponent think twice about using his land. Land destroy just doesn't seem to have a place in his deck. But taking damage for tapping their lands fits the theme of this deck very well which is why I like Pooling Venom and Contaminated Ground. Blight is okay, I just think that you will get MUCH more use out of Dark Ritual on turn 1.

The only thing I don't like about this deck is the fact Dash Hopes is in it. I think I'd rather see some kind of discard spell here. Probably Thoughtseize.

How often can you actually play Nocturnus? With 18 lands in the deck, I'd think hitting 3 or more lands could be tough.

I'm kind of surprised there's no Strip Mine in here to polish of the LD suite.

I think I'd like to see something else over Child of Night. Maybe Bloodghast, or Vampire Lacerator / Pulse Tracker. This deck really looks like it wants to do something productive on turn 1.

I agree 1000% Child of Night is, to be blunt, a damn awful vampire. Switch them out for Bloodghasts and you will have a LOT of fun. =]

I usually get slapped when I say this so, I'm glad to have a chance to say it without; Boop!

First up it's a cruel little MBC, and followed by a very amusing Countertop Progenitus.

nice vamp deck..... but i think i can take it. im not convinced this deck can do enough to take me out. plus child of the night isnt really the best. bloodghast would work very well in this deck.

0

Bloodghast is the pinacle of aggression. It WON'T go away, and will always be a problem. They can't block anyway, so just swing away with them without a care. If they die to a blocker they kill, pop a land and they're back. And when your Bloodghasts get their haste bonus, one land drop often means game over.

Lifelink in this case is not at all worth how..."in-your-face" this thing is. It's my favorite card for a reason =]

i dont like the fact of no blocking but can see where it would be good.

0

see lifelink is nice..... but it has a place in certain decks that gets more benefit from having lots of lifepoints. you wouldnt earn many LP with just child of night...... and bloodghast is a repeating vampire. i think it doing what it does best would suit this deck well.

Hello, it's me. There's not much I'd change here, this looks pretty sweet.

I would give an honorable mention to Quaq Vampires. They are a 1/1 for B that can kick for +1/+1 counters and have swampwalk, which since you are giving your opponent Swamps with Contaminated Ground would give you some free attackers.

Another reason for bloodghast, it will help you get more procs from Kalastria Highborn. I fully support Bloodghast, 100%, it's just such a damn expensive card.

sinkhole is a mean card. If i had enough money I would put it in my black hate deck. You have lots of sweet stuff in here though congrats

0

diabolic edict is a poor choice, if you want the creature smack there r much better choices. personally i would use a mana boost of some sort. depending on what you can wrangle dark ritual is prolly your best bet. and 18 lands is a bit too shy, you absolutely need to play land destruction cards turn 2 and 3 or you wont have the advantage your looking for. 20 lands should be enough to do this

as to your challenge, this wont do much against combo decks

0

what is a better creature killer and dont say doom blade becuse that dont work all the time and i have yet to fail playing land destrution on turn 2

awesome deck! i got my ass handed to me by a similar deck :)) good job :D

0
Posted 22 December 2010 at 22:41

your best bet is smother in this deck, the opponent wont be playing that many expensive creatures anyway and this way u have a good answer to the turn 1 birds of paradise. and a turn 2 land destruction is good, but u need to optimize it with a turn 3 as well, that way they will have 1 while u have 3 and then u can just swarm with the vamps

so sideboard in grasp of darkness instead of doom blade. I'd replace a couple of your two drops with one drops instead to give you something to do on your first turn.

To be honest, I don't know where your going with this deck. If casual you might as well add Strip Mines..... and other cards I can't think off the top of my head. If competitive, I guess this would be Type 1.5 Legacy, Wasteland is a must, but if you want an example of a MBC Legacy deck, check mine out.

As others have commented,
depending on the purpose of this deck it is a very good start to something fast and fun.

If it were me, and I was going to play tournaments with this, I would add swap out these: Blight, Dash Hopes, Child of night.

For some Mono black staples such as:
Dark Ritual, thoughtseize, maybe sign in blood, fetchlands, wastelands, duress or hymn to tourach, hexmage, poweder keg / ratchet bomb...
I like the suggestion of bloodghast as well.

If your going for the LD theme, and playing casual, definatly stripmines,

Meh, just my two sense. I have a similar deck, kudo's on the sinkholes :-)
