Deck discussion for green stomp help!

Well, let me first say that for being new to magic, and for taking on a deck type like Stompy, this is pretty excellent. It needs some work, but for a beginner, this is very promising. =]

Nature's Claim is the Stompy alternative to Naturalize, so that's great you did that. However, you should just put it as a Sideboard card. Same goes for Hurricane and Asceticism.

Harrow is the Stompy alternative of Cultivate, so that's just a simple fix. For most other decks/deck-types, Cultivate IS the better choice, but in Stompy, Harrow's the only choice =]

I don't think you need 4 Momentous Falls, 2 is probably a better number.

Blanchwood Armor is excellent, and so is TImbermaw for it's synergy (and with Primal Bellow). I once had an argument with a buddy of mine over the fact that Timbermaw is Stompy. He said it isn't, I said it is. I won. =]

I'm not a fan of the Basilisk Collar. It just doesn't fit and isn't very Stompy...plus it puts you at 61 cards.

Last bit of advice is that you should try to see if you can get in a few more mana dorks like Llanowars, etc.

Hope I helped! =]

This looks so much better with the changes. I hope you like it =]

One last thing. Here is the list of my tried-and-true Stompy Sideboard:

2x Asceticism
2x Leyline of Vitality
4x Nature's Claim
3x Plummet
3x Tectonic Edge
1x Kozilek, Butcher of Truth

Enjoy! =]

could you explain to me in some situations where harrow>cultivate?

Harrow is currently one of the only land accelerators that is actually Stompy. The other one being Fastbond (which went the way of Skullclamp =P). Harrow costs 3 mana to play as an instant, but puts out 2 lands untapped, and you can sac one of the lands used to pay the cost. In a way, it's 2 lands and deck thinning at instant speed for 1 mana. All other spells just don't function this way. Cultivate is sorcery with one tapped and one in hand, and Rampant Growth is just...slow.

An example of Harrow's awesomeness: Turn one, forest - elf. Turn 2, forest - tap elf and two forests - play harrow - sac one tapped land - thin deck out by 2 - put 2 untapped lands in - tap lands for Garruk's Companion.
