Deck discussion for Zombies Ate My Neighbors Deck

Hi nukifeyed,

This list looks really good. The only thing that puzzles me is your use of spells like Evil Presence, Viridian Longbow, Gravedigger, etc - you can replace them with more powerful options. The Zombie lord from M10, as you mentioned, is very good. Aether Vial is also crucial to good Zombie builds because it really raises the rate at which you put Zombies into play.

Let me tell you about a little trick I learned when I played Zombies. It involves Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth & Zombie Master. You won't ever have to worry about getting through your opponents' walls of creatures ever again ;)

Hope these suggestions help,

Azen

Hey man thanks for the comment.

I only put Viridian Longbow to take advantage of deathtouch, and have a card to play early game. Even 1 damage is lethal, if I understand the rules correctly.

But I agree, Evil presence and gravedigger are easily replaceable.

No problem! I'm glad that I could help. That's what MTG Vault is for in the first place, right?

In case you haven't figured out the Urborg combo, here's how it works:

Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth transforms all lands into Swamp hybrids. Because Zombie Master allows each of your Zombie creatures to gain Swampwalk, your Zombies all become unblockable beaters. In other words, you won't need to worry about destroying your opponent's creatures via removal spells like Pestilence. You'll just be able to attack past them.

This is a particularly easy combo to splash. Just replace three Swamps with Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth (you don't want four, because the Tomb is a legendary land. Running three copies is just the right number.) I used this combat trick to win a lot of my games when I played Zombie Tribal, so I think it'll work out for you!

Actually that is the exact reason I have Evil Presence, only Evil Presence can screw someone who needs a specific color -- in the early game.

But thanks man, Ill be looking for some.

Oh, I see. But are you sure that Evil Presence negates all other attributes of the enchanted land? It may just become a Swamp in addition to its other land types. I'm really not sure about this ruling - I'm just wondering whether it works or not.

Ill look into it and let you know.

I was right on the Evil Presence. It turns any land into a basic swamp. Including duals, because nowhere does it say "in addition to its other types." Plus old cards say spefically "Target land becomes a basic swamp."

Any reason you're skipping some of the one and two drops out there? Some of my favorites are Festering Goblin and Carrion Feeder. A couple great one drops to accelerate the deck if you feel you need it)

I prefer Decreation Elemental or somethin like that. That creature listed is an 8/8 with fear though has a downfall for only three and a black for it's casting cost. Though i see you made a good choice in placing 4 dark rituals in this deck. Mono black decks though need Consume Spirit though because of the fact it's a good card in mono black.

Please any help from anybody i ask of you all to check out my decks and maybe give some hints?
